There are different things.

DIOS MIOS (Lite) has an option for using a virtual memory card.
Devolution also has an option for virtual memory card.
These are backup loaders, and the Virtual memory card is enabled by not having a real Memory card in the slot, and can also be turned ON/OFF by using a backup loader.

DIOS MIOS (Lite) is also working with Official discs or burned discs (if you have a modchip).
DIOS MIOS (Lite) virtual memory card is not compatible with all games, and it's based on NMM previous work from the same author. (No More Memory)

If you want, you can install only NMM, but I guess you better install DIOS MIOS or DIOS MIOS Lite as it works with both ISO and Disc, and has virtual memory support.
If you only want the virtual memory support, just install NMM but there's no switch, it's always active.
Ok, thanks

so..I`ve followed all the Modmii instructions and installed everything as it should be ( i do believe so, no error messages etc..) I`ve downloaded some ISO files with Wii games and transfered them to 8gigs usb stick in fat 32. There is wbfs folder & currently there are two game files. I used Wii backup manager to transfer files to the stick (is there anything else i need to do with this files in backup manager?!) When i startup the wii and go to usb loader & press start i get black and white wii logo which disappears after few seconds and directs me back to wii`s main menu...
i guess that i am missing something really obvuious and i feel so stupid.. what am i doing wrong..? please help..

Might as well ask this here before making my own thread about it. I'm trying to get a wad for Banjo Kazooie (N64). I'm pretty sure the game isn't officially on the VC catalog, and I was wondering if it would be possible to inject a Bajo Kazooie rom into some other VC N64 game. I've never dealt with wad injections before so any information I need to know would be quite helpful. It would also be great if someone could point me in the direction of the most recent injector tool, or newest method for carrying out such a task.

At the moment it's not possible to inject Banjo Kazooie or any other game made by Rare into a WAD. Many people have tried before, but none of them had success. From what I read it is because of the games code. There seems to be a (or rather some) function(s) in the Kazooie Rom (and other Rare games) that is not supported by the built in N64 emulator in any WAD file. Your best bet would be to wait for a propper N64 emulator. While there was next to no progress on the official wii64 for quiet some time now, there is a modified version known as Not64 improving things here and there. If you read through this thread, you will see that Banjo Kazooie is indeed running in Not64, albeit not without problems as of yet.

Do you have the USB Loader in the apps folder of the device you are trying to load your games from? ModMii should have generated a folder named "COPY TO SD / USB" with files to copy over to your device. Check if you have done that.

Edit: Sorry for double posting, should have merged the posts but forgot to do so...

My wii won't accept my flash drive for some reason. It's 32 gb which I suspect is the problem. I could not find anything about it ont he compatibility list.

The problem is I can't start my wii with it plugged in, and the homebrew channel freezes when it's launching while it's plugged in. I'm trying to remod my wii and I do have an SD card available, but I prefer my flash drive.

The partition type is FAT32.

Hello, I made a topic earlier regarding my USBLoaderGX r1193 telling me that there is no new version when I need it updated to 1207 to be compatible with Dios Mios 2.6.
Full topic is here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/cant-upd...2-6-but-loader-is-stuck-on-r1193-help.339291/

I'm guessing it might be more of a 'noob' issue and hopefully someone on here can help.

Thanks in advance, any help would be much appreciated. :-)

I have a modified wii and would like to revert it back to factory settings with all the cios and stuff gone. How should I approach this situation?
Usually, that's not recommended and kinda risky. May I ask WHY you want to do this?

The auto update in the program itself will only work if you're updating TO another FULL version of the loader and 1193 and 1207 are still BETA versions. (v3.0 was the most recent full version and was r1180). I don't know where a link to r1207 is but here's a link to r1205 which should also be compatible with v2.6.

you just have to take the boot.dol file (the one in the 249 folder is best for most people) and place it in the apps/usbloader_gx folder on your Wii, replacing the existing one.

alright, i know i didnt go to the first place at first but forgot to do my homework before starting, anyways i followed microwave sam method on Another web site here's what i got.

wii system info :

Small Black Wii Holiday Version (Super Mario) Purchased 2 weeks ago
System Menu : ios80
Region : USA 4.3U
Video Standard : NTSC
Wiiconnect24 : on
WiFi : Connected
Usb Plugged in the Bottom Port : Seagate 500Gb 9ZF2A2-500 FreeAgent GoFlex (Put A Bunch a game with WBFS Manager 3.0, Everything seemed to go smootly)

did the Letterbomd Thing
installed HBC (I think IOS58 v24.32)
installed Bootmii
installed Multi-mod Manager v13.2
Installed Priiloader
current IOS : IOS236 v54321

beside my HBC I Have 2 "Wiiflow StarNight" (Channels I think the call them) beside is "Configurable USB Loader" "USB Loader GX" NeogammaChannel" and the last one is "CGBL"

Very Long Story Short every time i go in wiiflow or loader or neo remote goes off and screen freezes, should i restart from the beginning with you're tuto (And is it a problem since I've already installed all of this stuff) or is this fixable.

the new remote did the same thing in bootmii so i borrowed an older model remote so i could navigate in that menu...

sorry for being such a noob, and of course i waited till the last week before Xmas

Thanks in advance

okay...... i already have a soft-modded Black 4.3 Wii, i would like to play Gamecube games from the HHD not the SD...

everytime i go to try and play a gamecube game it says it has to copy to the HHD... it does this for Animal Crossing, Skies of Arcadia Legends and a few other games

do i need to use/install DIOS MIOS or DIOS MIOS (Lite) to be able to play from the HHD, i only have a 4gig sd card and dont have the money to but like a 16gig or 32gig

my HHD has a Fat32 and a WBFS part
and i use: USB Loader GX

It depend on the version of the homebrew you are using.

DIOS MIOS: only load gameCube backup from USB
DIOS MIOS Lite: only load gameCube backup from SD

USBLoadergx 3.0 : Was released when DIOS MIOS didn't exit, so it don't know how to play from USB. Works only with DIOS MIOS Lite and SD card. the USB is only used to store the game until you want to play it.
USBloaderGX beta past 3.0 : Working with DIOS MIOS and USB.

HDD : you need the first partition to be in FAT32, primary, 32k cluster size.
If you have your first partition on the drive in WBFS, DIOS MIOS will not work.

I'm sure the answer to this is "no", but did the November 6th, 2012 update to the Wii have any effect on installing the Homebrew Channel (or any Homebrew/Hacking utilities for that matter)? Refurbished Wii systems and games are finally cheap enough that a little over 6 years after it's release, I'm finally picking one up. Also, how strong is homebrew N64 emulation support for the system?

I could use some help. I just load an external hard drive with my .wbfs files and am trying to play them with wiiflow. All the games are listed on the wiiflow menu, but when I click play I get a black screen and then the wii reboots. What do I need to do to fix this problem. I installed wiiflow with modmii installer.

Make sure your HDD is fat 32 cluster size 32 kb.
Make sure your .wbfs games are IN a folder called wbfs on your HDD's root.

If you you use NTFS formatted HDD's, make sure your folders are sorted the same way as above.
The reason your cover are showing is due to the fact your cover folder is set up the way it should.
Covers and games are separately found by Wiiflow, use diferent paths.
When tying to launch the preferred game, Wiiflow reboot because of the wrong game path.
If you used wiibackup manager this problem would've not happened, this app set your folder structure as needed when tranferring Wii games to your HDD.

If I play Negima!? for wii can I save even though it is a foreign game? I know you have to have a separate mem card for GCN but do I have to format for wii as well?

I did use wiibackup manager to transfer my .wbfs files on to the hard drive. I can get the games to play with usb loader no problem. Is it something with Wiiflow?

Good day gentlemen! I have a challenge for you! ;)
I can't seem to load up my copies of monster hunter tri, klonoa and skyward sword from the usb loader gx. I don't know what the problem is really but some guy told me that I should update my softmod. I have softmodded my wii before but I don't remember really how I did it. I know that I used bannerbomb for installing the homebrew channel and the bootmii thing but that's about it. When it comes to all the ios's and cios's, I don't remember a damn thing! :( Guess I hit my head on a brick or something :P
Sooooo my question to you guys is: can I softmod my wii >>again<< even if it already is softmodded? :S
Or does someone have a better suggestion?
(wii is 4.3e, my homebrew channel is appareantley 1.1.0 and my usb loader gx is 3.0)
