i'm wanting to downgrade my psp 1000 to 6.20 from 6.60 in order to install permanent custom firmware.

wololo has a link to do it. i'd paste the instrucitons but i don't think gbatemp allows other forum links.

i just want to know if this is safe? my psp is fat v3.0, bat eeprom access read and write possible cfw. yes w custom IPL (from pspident 0.75). Also is it best for me to delete 6.20 pro c temporary first before downgrading?

Other forum links work fine, in particular we know the Wololo forums are a great source of info.

Yes, every 1000 can downgrade to 6.20 using the special downgrader homebrew. From what I've seen the official install process wipes flash0 as well, which will automatically get rid of the PRO installation too.

Why 6.20 though? 6.60's permanent patch via cIPL should work on every 1000.

looks like you're right about fix 3 6.60 pro c

http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7169&start=570

with your assurance of 6.60 pro c cipl fix 3 working on a psp 1000 and wowololo's help, i was able to permanently install 6.60 pro c on my psp 1000

thats good, but if you have a PSP1000 then why not get a pandora battery just because. that way, its impossible to brick it. i made a phat one and flashed a psp slim battery to pandora using a psp1000 (dangerous but it worked).
i can unbrick my PSP1000 and PSP2000 any time i want and use TimeMachine.
