Basically I managed to get my hands on a dev unit.
I also have CTR Flashcard 16gbit. Sold for $150.00 Probably undersold.

But I have no games. I've searched online, for more information, and I read it can not play retail 3ds games.
Does this apply to DS games aswell?

And if it does. I plan to sell it. So how much is it worth? Considering the XL has been released.

Selling the 3DS Dev unit. If interested PM me.

Thanks for the confirmation, I will definately do as you suggest. I want to be able to use it. I don't mind not playing 3ds games.
I wish I had the time to explore its functions so far it just confuses me. Maybe after all my exams and I finally have some free time. I will use this forum to its fullest. To understand more about the unit.

Ok so after asking around and playing with it.

The 3ds dev unit has the lastest firmware.
So it can play DS and DSi retail games. Not tried playing a 3ds game yet. Since I don't see anything I want to try playing.
But did someone really manage to sell one of these for US $2,425.00?

Yeah, that one did actually sell for that price. I know who bought it. It's a shame because it was running a uselessly old firmware. You or anyone else won't be able to sell one for that price again. You could try, but the whole 3ds dev unit hype has faded.

What firmware is it on?

I'm Pretty sure I messaged you the firmware :P.

Firmware on the test Menu states. : 0.17.16 (r47586) for SDK 4.1.0 or later.

That's very interesting. I have a dev unit on r47586 too, but my firmware version is 17.6 (it still says SDK 4.1.0 or later)

What's the build date on the home menu? Just curious.

X+Y on the home menu will give you the following on the upper left of your dev unit home menu :

Region_Language (such as US_Eng)
Home menu build timestamp (should give you the date and hour, minute, and second your home menu was compiled)
Home menu revision (this doesn't mean the the firmware revision)

Then below will give you 3 bars :

Red bar = 100% processing
Second bar (below red) = CPU process load indicator
Third bar (below second bar) = GPU process load indicator

The colour of the second and third bar depends on the safety level of your CPU usage and GPU usage respectively.
The second and third bars change colours based on the safety levels. (Green = Safe, Yellow = Be cautious, Red = Stop whatever software is taking up that much)
The first bar will always be red, though. (it's fixed) This is just to give you a way to gauge the other two bars.

oh yeah, lol, I forgot my mind has been on other things recently. Also, is your dev unit, an original 3ds model, or 3DS XL model? Is it grey?

Its the one with the red and black back, and the metal grey top cover. that fades half way. Like translucent Plastic
Oh, so it's an original 3ds model dev unit. Can you tell us what was on the flash cart, were you able to play it on your dev unit?
