Anyway for the haters, this is the last New Super Mario Bros for a long time, Nintendo is treating this like it treats Mario Kart with one entry per platform.

Except it is broken.

I never quite understood the location of the analog sticks on Sony consoles. With the first Dual Shock, it could've been influenced by how often the D-Pad was used in the past, so it was "there" despite the fact that the console's main focus was 3D. That, and the stock pads didn't have analog nubs at all.

With the Dual Shock 2, I started scratching the back of my head... the focus was shifted from the D-Pad to the analog nub - why wasn't the nub placed in the most obvious place then - right under your thumb as you grab the pad? It's the place that allows for the most comfort as you use the pad after all - putting it where it is now makes the player bend their thumb to reach it, increasing muscle strain.

With the Dual Shock 3, I lost all hope - tradition won againts common sense, and I think this design is just going to stick. At this point, it's actually a manufacturer's staple and the most recognizable pattern connecting Sony systems. The exact same layout is even used on the PSP and the Vita - god knows why.

I actually liked sunshine because it was different, its also one of the few mario games that used water on a regular basis without making me want to stab myself.
