I don't know, the sticker gimmick sounds like it will be annoying at times...
Especially this: (taken from Wikipedia)

The stickerish graphics aren't as cool as the PM2 graphics, and I doubt it will be as humorous as it, too.

I'm not going to preorder it, but if it gets positive reviews I might buy it. I hope everything I said earlier in this post is wrong ;)

Well, you are lucky! :D
You are wrong. This might be the game if the century (kinda)
I like the idea that you can collect stickers almost everywhere you go and those are powerups to your moves :)

Why is everyone worried about the stickers? They are litterally EVERY WHERE. Hell, in the 3DS trailer alone I counted atleast 12 that the player just walked right pass. Personally, I think its pretty cool, it mixes the badge system from TTYD with the item system and combat system. Its much more easy to manage and quick then the normal system which is understandable since its a portable game. I dont think it will trumph TTYD, but its shaping up to give the first game a run for its money.

The sticker system reminds me a bit of the card system in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (or whatever the GBA title was called). Not sure if I like that or not.

I can't wait to get that game because I already pay off for pre order, thank for postpone 4 times to save my money to pay. ^_^

I was put off of Chain of Memories's card system mainly because I had to deal with it in real-time and too much stuff happened because of it. Sticker Star, on the other hand, is turn-based, meaning I can take my time without consequence.

As the title says Paper Mario: Sticker Star is now available on the eShop in the US. The download is going very slowly, so it looks like there is a lot of load on the Nintendo servers.

Srsly this download is taking forever. I want to play Paper Mario :(

Download sped up a lot while I was watching the new ep of SAO. Almost done

WOOT DONE

Not really digging this. Collecting the stickers reminds me of the Draw system of Final Fantasy VIII, and not coincidentally is the only game that I avoided using magic at all. That combined with what looks like limited inventory space, and the lack of a levelling system, I'm just not interested. I loved Paper Mario 64, and Thousand Year door, but this just looks like it deviates from the original formula once again.

Anyone actually playing it yet? Thinking of grabbing it right now and selling my pre-ordered retail copy (since im probably going to prefer digital anyways.)

Edit: screw it, i'm doing digital. $8 more than I was going to pay, but i don't care. >:]

Hmmm, maybe.
I'll play it and see

It's really boring right now, but I'm sure it'll pass the ranks that Super Paper Mario is in.
The battle system so far makes me feel that TTYD will never be beaten.

I actually loved the shit out of Super Paper Mario. Every review I'm seeing of the Sticker Star is relating the game to the first two releases while throwing some criticism towards SPM. Any of you love SPM and love Sticker Star?

All of these negative/neutral reviews are really making me want to wait on this game till a sale or something.....had a pre-order down at Gamestop, but I think I'll just shift the much needed money toward my WiiU

Even bothers me most seeing them coming from other Paper Mario fans, the game seems piss easy, and the no companions part is a massive downside for me.

I think the main problem is putting Paper Mario on a handheld. Before this, it was simple: You had Paper Mario as the RPG on consoles, and Mario&Luigi as the RPG on handhelds. Once those lines began to blur, what differences needed to be made between Paper Mario and Mario&Luigi?

You see what I'm saying. Sure, M&L has more of an emphasis on action commands, and Paper Mario has more of an emphasis on party members, but overall they're very similar turn-based RPGs, albeit with different art styles. So of course, they saw a necessity to change the play style of one of them.

That said, I really wish they just either made this an M&L game instead, or else saved Paper Mario for the console. That would've fixed things better.
