If this happens, I hope, and can't wait for Wind Waker to be released. It'd be much nicer to get for a reasonable price rather then the ridiculous amount of money I've seen it go for on the internet, and that's just for a used copy.

Yeah, and SSBM already HAD local LAN multilayer support so I guess it just depends on how much Ninty wants to work on the port.

If it's a "new play control" type thing, recompiled for Wii U I can see it being added / adjusted to work that way

Older Virtual Console games, though, we're run with the original ROM and an emulator. GameCube wouldn't need a real emulator since the processor would be mostly compatible but maybe a Devolution-style virtual machine would be used. BBA support COULD be added to something like that but I kinda doubt it since they'd likely be making one virtual machine app to fit all their GC VC titles and they might not see adding support just for a couple of titles as worth it.

Either way, they'd have to set up a server for it on to run over the Internet which could be a little work. Local Wi-Fi play sounds very doable, though, IF they think of it themselves.

I wonder if any gaming company will ever allow you to install all your old titles onto your latest console. I love the concept of the VC having gamecube stuff, but I already own most of the great gamecube titles. I really don't wanna spend more money on re-buying them. I know I could play them on the gamecube, but it would be awesome to take advantage of the new console's features.

Pay up, then.

Stop expecting everything for free. There were no provisions set in place for this when the Gamecube was made, so the only way for Nintendo to let you carry over your physical copies would be to organize a large-scale worldwide trade-in project. Due to the cheapness of Gamecube titles, this could be easily abused. And be honest, you wouldn't trash your originals to get a silly download code.

It's been over 10 years, man.

No need to be so snappy about it. He's just making a "it would be nice," post, not demonizing them for not doing it.

I payed for the original copies of those games...so how am I asking for it for free? I'd rather have all my stuff in one place than have to change platforms any time I want to play a classic.

I could be mistaken, but I think Midna is more referring to where you added in the "it would be awesome to take advantage of the new console's features" bit and the effort required to make something like that happen. The games themselves would be fair imo, but not the added benefits. :x I doubt they'd just slip them in for free...though maybe they could charge a little for the added bits, idk...

In all honesty, that would be pretty interesting if it possibly could have NFC involved in some way,.
