So I live the middle of the english countryside about half a mile from the first roman settlement in this country, a place called Carleon.

Anyway to the point, I was taking the dog out for a walk today and he decided to run off and started digging a hole, he got to about a foot and a bit before i caught up with him, and i noticed something pointing out of the ground, gave it a bit of a dig and came across whats pictured below, any ideas what it is, i know its roman because of where it was found and the design, so any ideas

It looks like a 660-600 BC roman sex toy. The shape of it indicates it was used for entry into the vagina and the picture/inscription represents it was for mainly upper class women.

See I was thinking that, but its quite small so maybe a cup handle, but if it snapped off clean it doesnt look like it could of fit a hand through, so I was kinda thinking maybe like a bronze or copper pin, I have no idea really.

Looks like a handle to an urn or something.

You might want to get it appraised or ask your history teacher or something

It looks like a handle to a jug. [2]

You should speak with some museum nearby ..maybe they can start a excavation in the spot you found it.
It can be a important archeological place for them to study.

It has been dug up already, theres a mini colleseum here, as well as houses, theres a whole museum here dedicated to stuff found in the local area, few years back some guy found over 200 romans coins in a chest worth over $300k, but theres still loads of stuff to be found. As i said it was the first settlement of the romans in the UK people are forever finding stuff here. Ive got two broaches, and a few coins myself this handle? is new though so i thought I'd get a 2nd opinion

Would be funny if a couple moments before you discovered it, a person had no use for a broken handle and threw it in the ground in disgust.

Lemme just call a buddy of mine and we'll get this figured out.

A bit off topic, but I would be perfectly happy with a show where the cast of Pawn Stars travel across the world, search for rare and ancient treasures, and then lowball the owners... while enjoying their delicious Subway sandwiches, of course.
