I agree, for the time being. Once DIOS MIOS gets audio streaming working, it will be the superior solution on the Wii. However, if WiiU is as easy to crack in Wii mode as some claim it to be, and once devolution gets wiimote control working instead of GC controller, it will become the superior solution.

Of course, for WiiU since there's so much more ram, the limits on DIOS MIOS may not be so strict.
Considering the WiiU does not have GC backwards compatibility, DM(L) will not function at all. Any talk of Devolution on the WiiU right now is pure, baseless speculation. Until it's actually released, we cannot possibly tell how easy or hard it will be to run Wii homebrew in the Wii mode on the WiiU (even if people have access to it right now, there is nothing to stop Nintendo changing things before the console's actual release. It would be rather foolish to assume that the software on test/preview units right now is not a very early build, that will be changed quite a lot before the console's release)

Derp. Oh yeah. Forgot about that whole "no GC hardware at all" aspect as regards to DIOS MIOS compatibility.

Maybe take a look at the game compatibility lists. Devolution has a long, long, way to go to reach parity with DIOS MIOS.

Why does everyone here seem to have such problems with .dvv files? I keep hearing people say that they're fragile, but It doesn't seem like that to me. I can do pretty much whatever I want to them so long as they have the same attributes as they originally had, and have the same hex value at the end of it...

That only works for generated DVV files on the same console. There's another workaround that involves making an image of the device where the DVV files are stored.

This topic needs to be closed. tueidj answered this question before the topic was even created, it's just the result of the OP not reading about Devolution.
If this topic was closed people would bitch in the main topic. This topic exists to contain the bitching.

The thread starter made it clear that he understands why tueidj included the AP, and his question is rethorical:
Why add anti-piracy measures to Devolution ?
Yes I understand the point of anti-piracy measures , but for a project such as this one it seems kind of odd for a few reasons.

I'm surprised this thread is still kicking. I hope tueidj isn't mad about this thread.
The whole reason for it was because I was looking forward to checking out his work , and I'm sure alot of other people were too.
But I'm not gonna go out and buy games for a system that is 11 years old. I merely wanted to check his work , and while I supose you could say I was afforded
the opportunity to do so , I don't believe I was do to the limts he put in place.
In the end it is what it is.

I'm assuming you meant to say you can't run your retail games (rather than you can't "my my" them), and that is completely and utterly untrue. Here's a quick little guide seeing as you seem to be struggling:

1. Turn on Wii
2. Insert GC game
3. Navigate to disc channel and load game

The AP in Devolution doesn't stop that from working with retail discs. Maybe you can't use Devolution with your retail discs. IIRC, your Wii has (or has had) numerous modchips etc., so it's no surprise things don't work quite right. It's got nothing to do with tueidj, and this does not in any way make him a "jerk".

Yeah I meant Devolution
I have a modchip (uninstalled)
I dumped game using cleanrip WITHOUT modchip and tried to run it using Devolution. (Still without the chip)
It rejected the disc.

I think we are talking about devolution here...
