Anyway, I've made a similar topic on a forum that I used to visit where a user asks a question starting with the words "what would you do if...", but the next user asks another question after answering the above user's question. I think that would be a better way to play a game like this, but I'm probably biased.

If an animal were to become king, one would assume that it did so with an army.
And if this animal king had an army, we could also assume that it's army would be made of animals similar to it.
Now at this point in time it's difficult for us to conceive of any creatures we as humans cannot dominate.
The creatures would need to be formidable, fearsome, and work together.
We can eliminate many possible creatures right off the bat.

Spiders are fearsome, and outnumber us, but are non-social and even the largest of them are relatively weak.
Snakes invoke fear, they're powerful, but their limitations in eyesight/detection make them vulnerable.
Sharks are fearsome, strong, and can work together, but are limited to salt water.
Ants can be scary, are comparatively powerful, vastly outnumber us, work socially, certain species have been known to kill (weak) humans, but are quite susceptible to readily available toxins.

No, I think that our most likely animal king would be a physically tough, mammalian land creature immune to many toxins, capable of fast reproduction, fierce, tricky, and capable of working socially.


That leaves very few candidates.
