Metal Gear Solid HD getting each game sold separately digitally

I was gonna write a long argument but I'll leave it at "No, it's not related" and that you should stop arguing semantics. The topic isn't the name of the game (which has been out for a while now and was announced with that name, so why argue here about it?), the topic is the digital distribution of separate titles.
 
I didn't comment on it before because I was under the assumption that only the PS3 versions would be called "HD". I'm NOT okay with a game having a misleading title like this, and I was not aware of it until now. This is the most recent and currently-active thread for the game, so I figured it best to voice my issue here instead of digging up an older one.

In my opinion, Vita is not trying to fool the customers, it is just saying that the graphics is better than classic version. For example: Wolfenstein 3D is not "technically" in 3D, and nobody give a damn.
 
Commenting on the name of a game, in a thread about the new digital release of said game is not okay. Necro-bumping (posting in an old thread) is not okay. Creating multiple threads about the same game is not okay ("post in the currently active thread instead of posting a lot of new threads!"-comments that are frequent in those threads).
Also, it wasn't Soulx who brought up the irrelevant 3DS version in this thread.
Also, it had relevance to the actual topic, considering it is the name of the game collection that the topic is about. there is relevancy there. I don't care at all about the name as I said before, there are plenty of times this has happened. It was a nitpicking comment, it was a "btw, the name is misleading". Maybe he thought of it just now, when he saw it. But no, you're not oppressing opinions, as long as he doesn't post it where you don't want him to. He didn't argument useless points, he made one comment on the name. You sir, took it one step further in trashtalking the inferior 3DS version, stating that it was lagging and stuff. That has no relevance to the point that the HD in the name doesn't correspond to the resolution of the game.

Compared to the earlier games in that era, it represented three dimensions versus the standard two. It didn't do it nearly as well as modern games, but it's not like they said "WolfenStein 3D" and then had the game in the same 2D flat-on style as other things of the time. The title indicated the major difference.

"HD" is not subjective. It does NOT just mean "higher quality". High-Definition (in relation to video) is a concrete term as defined by the FCC in the US.
 
Well, the Vita already has MGS 2: Sons of Liberty and MGS 3: Snake Eater in the dual pack (got it for 20 bucks), it's pretty good. I'd like a remake of the original MGS for the Vita though :)

I doubt a "HD" version is really going to make much difference though, I really wouldn't want to pay double the price for products that I already have.

As for the MGS3D comment, I thought soulx was making another lame joke trying to say the Vita version was bad some I countered with an equally bad joke. I didn't intend it to be a random jab.

Soulx made a joke about the name, I'm sure of that, especially due to the smiley after the comment. However, it wasn't trying to say that the Vita version was bad? I don't see how it even could be interpreted as that. So your joke came out as a random jab, and wasn't as clear a joke as his was. But it was a joke okay. fine

If you have a complaint on the title then e-mail Konami. There's no point bitching about it here, especially when it's not even the topic at hand.

I didn't think he was making the joke about the name, I thought he was making a joke about the game. Hence why I returned with an equally bad joke. It was a misunderstanding, I understand that now. Problem solved.

Don't you still nitpick at the "3D" in 3DS? I would hope not, or you'd be considered a hypocrite.


Anyways, I wonder how much the total would be if you forgo a single title of the collection (in a case like if you have one of them already). If it is slightly less than the complete collection, then I see no reason not to just get the collection.
 
I see, good stuff. This is one of those series I want to like but just don't. I think it's the stealth and relatively slow gameplay (of what I've tried) that has put me off. This would've been a perfect collection otherwise since I don't own a single one of the games.
One thing I've thought about considering all these downloadable collections and their separate parts. Buying the collection is often cheaper than each game individually, but if you buy one of four games just to see how it is and then want to buy the rest of the games... there should really be a "complete the collection" deal. I mean, still gets cheaper than buying each of the games separately, and obviously cheaper than buying the complete collection including the one game you already own. I've seen some of the titles offering such things, like sam 'n max if I recall correctly... would an option like that be good for a game collection like this? Should it be standard for game collection with >= 3 games? (2 games would be pointless)?
 
I've mostly ghost browsed this forum for the last few years and hardly ever post comments, but jeez, you people need to step back and calm down.

On topic: This is great news! Should save a bit of money for those who already have a game or two from the collection and are happy not rebuying it :)
