Anyone tried to burn the discs yet, as this should work.

No other messages man - after the above message it just says underneath it to press the off button and try again.

My Wii is on hacked system menu 4.1J.
I've tried Neo, Wiiflow, GX and CFG - none of them work.
They're all updated to the latest revs.
I've tried to load a backup disc, from a WBFS drive, a FAT32 drive and an NTFS drive.
I've blocked IOS reload and also tried allowing it.
I've downloaded 6 or so different releases of both discs and all are reporting the same error message.

There's already an easy VPN workaround.

Getting the discs working is the only obstacle.

Now I'm curious of Ocarina cheat codes could possibly allow for the use of private servers or even faking an online connection.
How much of the game is ACTUALLY online? There must be a certain amount of content on there that is all accounted for offline.

You can play offline as well mate　（to some extent).

I have a feeling that the person claiming to have gotten it working was BS'ing as there are reports on NEOGAF that each game comes with a unique registration code required to make an account.

... in which case I've wasted the past 11 hours trying to figure this out in vain

It's still a fact you have take care of.

And about installing the game, let me tell you what happens.

You load the game, which loads IOS59 which seems to have a special USB module and then uses that to install to USB.

Now you can imagine what happens if you prevent loading IOS59 or run it from USB as two drivers accessing the same device at the same time obviously won't work.
Even if we forget all that, no USB loader supports swapping discs ...

So we have to wait for someone with a clue to work on it as it probably requires emulation of that new USB module.

It should install from a burned copy though.

it could be throwing you the error because your not on 4.3J

That's the same message mate.
I doubt you're using original discs though - because Japanese companies are extremely "release date" conscious and the game would not arrive to wherever you are in less than 24 hours.
You're probably using scene releases that you've downloaded.

Pong - I've wondered about that actually .. I downgraded from 4.3J to the hacked 4.1J and can't remember for the life of me how to go back to 4.3J - is it possible? And if so, can I revert to 4.1J if it doesn't work?

I've tried with revs 6, 7, 8 and also 9.

If you're also getting that error message with the original discs .. then I am "very" doubtful as to whether we'll be able to get it working with scene releases :/

Do you have other japanese games you can try to see if it's not a game specific issue?
