It would be pretty neat to have the actual animated sprites on the bottom screen. Maybe not animated, but at least one frame of it. That being said, I'm almost certain that the bottom screen battle portraits are the same as used in the compendium and cutscenes (and would also save on game size, the entire game is only like 1.6 gigs), so it would be kind of awkward to replace with just a LayeredFS mod I'd imagine.

Yeah true be alot in it and probably other issues along the way, you seem to know abit about modding if you every look into guest members and figure out how to stop them appearing in battles let me know, thanks.

For IV apocalypse I wonder if a cheat code can be made where it sets the partner health to 0 always, so they're always down and the partner gauge never goes up. The only sag I could forsee happening is that the game has a 3 turn "down timer" where afterwards your partner returns healed. Its possible that we could suppress this by the code always overwritting that offset, or making it triggerable via a button combo to just kill the partner and keep them down if they come back haha.

For regular IV maybe we could copy the value at the partner offset that is set at the start of the game before you face off Minotaur.

The code is for SMTIV, noy Apocalypse. This demon is exclusive to SMTIV.
Thanks for the confirmation. I haven't played IV in forever, so I'll spin up some test saves people have put on the internet and test it out.

If you get a save from the internet, you need one on the first playthrough. Also, check the compendiul to see if you have any fiend. If Chemtrail is on the compendium, the code will not work.

dang it lmao. time to speedrun the game and get all the way to Shunjuku unless Serph-DDS is willing to take one for the team

Unfortunately I'm away from home at the moment, but maybe there is save data uploaded online, sometimes they are files people upload at different stages of the game.

yeah i tried to take a look but it seems the only guy who uploaded his is a completionist. I might have to bug some of my friends for savedata if they have any still at cycle 1. Dang it I shouldn't have deleted my old IV saves way back lmao. I've always been an Apocalypse truther so that's the game I have most saves and muscle memory for.

Edit: maybe if im spiteful enough i might just figure out the flag in the save data for the cycle and location and frankenstein a save haha.

I checked this morning I had no save files backed up when I was trying to check aligment codes, so wasn't able to check them codes.

Same here. I deleted my cycle 1 saves, now im in cycle 3. Also, SMTIVA is my favorite, so like you, i have tons of saves from it. All the little things that i didn't like or find annoying from IV were fixed on IV:A. And the demon design from IV:A are waaay cooler.

Hahaha thanks! SMTIV could be way better just by having a fucking map like IV:A. It woul be a dream to make a roomhack with a functional map and improved estoma like on Apocalypse.
at this rate atlus has been teasing us with so much IV duology stuff that a remake HAS to be a thing in the works .
they actually put SMTIV Dagda in 5 and have a valid explanation on how he came up with the Godslayer plan (a demon who finds its knowledge being strong enough to take yhvh down) and point out they're not from the 5 world AND attempts to call Nahobino kid. My take on this is that Dagda traveling to 5 takes place before Apocalypse and then waits around until he finds his knowledge, convinently in 2038 right as Flynn rebels against God's Plan. You can't just put what is a nuke of a lore drop if true and just do nothing with that
I'm onto you Atlus. You aint slick. I see you. I'm not going insane Atlus! my conspiracy board would never wrong me!
Seriously though, IV with all the extra stuff they added in Apocalypse would be the IV Atlus wanted to make if they weren't going bankrupt. Im fairly sure this is how Apocalypse began in development. The expanded partner system, the rebalancing, the expel spell change and affinity, expanded fusion search tools and more Navarre clowning. All of that in base IV would be crazy.
