Since the key/upgrade issue was fixed, has anything else come out, or is chronoswitch on 09G considered safe enough to recommend as a standard method for getting a perm hack on 09G?

Trying to simplify the guides a bit.
Personally I don't think any downgrades at all are a recommended method for non-Pandorable PSP's - too much can go wrong during the process, especially when a newbie performs it, to recommend it to anyone and recovery is not an option... but yeah, 09G appears to be compatible with Chronoswitch.

Turns out there isn't much difference between a PSP-3000 04g and 09g ... and after discovering those differences Davee has patched up his downgrader, releasing Chronoswitch Downgrader version 5. You can read the technical details following the source.
Use Chronoswitch Downgrader on any PSP running firmware 6.35 or later, up to and including 6.60, to downgrade back to 6.20. And best of all, with this newly gained knowledge, 09g'ers will soon join the realm of perma-patched CFWs.

Davee mentions however ... this is still considered experimental -- and one PSP was bricked during the testing phase (props to Gamefreeak100 for the sacrifice). So with that said we, and Davee, are not responsible if you render your PSP a brick.

But for the record:

Davee identified the problem, fixed it and handed it to another brave tester. This time, it worked! 09g was running firmware 6.20 and for the last 12-ish hours it has been running fine. It retains the ability to update to >= 6.30 and seems very stable!

Chronoswitch uses the same method as OFW updates (literally, it launches the OFW update software), where flash0 is dismounted and re-written, so as far as that is concerned it has the same risks as an OFW update.
I suppose, I suppose, but it still voids the warranty and is potentially dangerous unlike an OFW update.

According to Davee, it's compatible, so if you feel like updating, go ahead.

Was just wondering if any other issues have cropped up since the original (the original being why I disregarded the method as safe in the first place).
The articles I've read so-far state that the issues were resolved, but hey - it's downgrading. You never know. :P
