Hacking New to the 3ds and need a Flashcart

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I am kind of a noob to the whole flash cart scene. I heard the Acekard 2i is where it's at but I would like to get second opinions from you guys. I also heard about the whole bricking situation with some individuals who have a ds.

Another question, I have a setup folder from my friend for the Acekard 2i because he recommended me it. I am confused on whether or not the root of the R4 is correct (just in case if I decide to go for the Acekard). What should I do?

Take something else into consideration, though. The AK2i has been lax on updates lately (it doesn't run on the last 1-2 3DS updates yet, for example), and it has contact issues. Go with something like the R4i Gold or Supercard DSTwo right now.

Just extract whatever is in the zip folder containing the firmware and kernel( i'm sure you know what they mean) to you microsd. Copy some games and your good to go!

Make sure that the r4i gold is released by r4ids.cn,which is officially supported by WOOD R4.

Yeah, it's a cartridge that acts like a ds game and it has a microsd slot, it also allows you to use loaders/firmware to play the games, correct? One more question, do I need a dsi or a dsl in order to upgrade the firmware and place it into the 3ds in order for it to work? The reason why I ask is because in the instructions it says the following, "3.You should get a NDSL;"(R4i Gold Instructions).

If your 3ds can boot up the patch, the updating process can be done on your 3DS. If you have updated your 3ds and you can not enter the menu, you need a NDSL to complete the updating process.Besides, all r4i gold have been pre-flashed to support the latest 3ds system . Attention: make sure your card can support the latest 3ds system or not before updating your 3ds system in the later days.

The only other DS I have is the phat DS. Will this work? Here is a quote from someone in this forum "The DS phat is identical software-wise to the DS lite. So Just pretend that your DS phat is a DS lite and follow the instructions."

your wrong only with latest update 4.2.0-9 its not been updated for.
