hmm, ds games look whashed out like they do on the normal 3ds, also those black boarders look very distracting, espcially with suh a huge screen too :( super mario 3d land looks ok

Is this your first hand impression ( did you get the chance to play one yet ) or are you judging the screen quality trough the crappy youtube video ?
I remember your " first " DSiXL impression, and that wasn't nice too. If I would have listened to your judgement, I would have never gotten one and realized it was the best handheld I ever purchased......

then by all means buy it, i am not saying not to, it's your money, do what you want, i was just stating a personal opinion on the video, i am still going to buy one myself so that's not going to change my decision.

1:1 mode is better than the 3DS but I would still rather play on a DSi XL.

I didn't really notice the" whashed" ( :P) out, specially when I'm not comparing. It only distracts me when I isn't full size. Super Mario 3d looks the same, doesn't it?

Imagine 3d on this thing.

Is it me or DS game looks great in those big screens?
Almost in the same boat. It can only look better when it is in person.

Do you guys think I can trade in my normal 3DS on a local Game store plus 50 bucks maximum to buy this new model ? Have you heard of any trade in promotions ?
I was going to do the same so I asked the guy at Gamestop and he said he would only give me $35 bucks for my DSI XL, to which I said to myself F*** that, I'll just buy another.

Im really happy with what they did with the hinges on this 3ds. It just seems so durable, and I like that it can be snapped into a different position then all other predecessors. You see a lot of people trying to play their ds/3ds in that position, but the screen always falls down :P
Not to mention the non smudginess! I can tell you how often I'm scrubbing my zelda 3ds with a cleaning cloth...damn oily skin...

I like how they moved the stylus and memory card back to the right side of the unit. I know they confirmed that they are working on a circle pad pro for the unit but with these moved back to the right side I don't see how it could be attached to the right side, unless the addon has room for the stylus. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I'll probably pre-order mine in a week or two now that Best Buy has it in their online catalog.

Looks great. I'm definitely getting one.
Yeah me too. My 3ds had a nice run,but there is a new 3ds in town.

I didn't have my 3ds right now, but I didn't remember such a problem. Maybe because I didn't move much when playing. That said, I do believe this one has a better hinge.

I hope it's a wifi/ir controller rather than an attachment for size sake for anyone who wants it. Would go nicely with the better hinge.

There should be just one topic for 3DS XL
We are rounded by XL topics with the same goal

It says it's "details".
Opinions aren't details.
Come on now. He gave good info which seem to be the general thoughts of other notice reviewers who have the xl in hand after him.

Details aren't bond between fact and opinions anyway.

You can say if his details are correct when you experience it yourself to give your opinions and facts.

Even if take out the info that seem too opinionated, there are still good details from the op.
- The screens are HUUUGE!
- The 3D effect is easier on the eye and nicer to the look.
- They think there's some kind of "filter" at works here because the pixels appear "rounded."
- "The XL is so much more comfortable to hold than the original 3DS
- The difference might be small, but the buttons felt well placed and of better quality.
- Surprisingly light for its size.
- Speakers and sounds doesn't appear to have improve. (Was in a noisy room, to confirm.)
- "the viewing angle on XL is way bigger too"

If you didn't take his words for it, that's a different matter.

the red and blue versions offered to the USA absolutely suck. Nintendo could have picked better shades of both colors...they look too girly, if you ask me. I want one, and will sell my original size model, but I'll wait for black/silver/white version. If those colors don't come, I wont buy one. The DSi XL, that I love, also had a really shitty color selection in the USA. Nintendo WTF??? You guys show how retarded you are everyday, and it's sad that you have such a loyal following that you get away with this bullshit.

They have one on demo in our local Toys R Us. I didn’t want to buy one until I saw it. The screen is much nicer than the current 3DS. I thought it would look pixelated but it looks crisp and easier on the eye and so much bigger. They were running Mario Kart on it and it looked so much better than it does on my 3DS. The physical Select Home and Start buttons also felt much better. Having big hands it was also more comfortable to hold. The only think I didn’t like was the controls looked wrong as they were still the size of the standard 3DS so they looked like they were out of scale with the rest of the unit. The case and the finish have definitely helped put it on my "To Buy" list.

You're so tempting me to make the purchase.
