Monster Hunter 4 will be released in Spring 2013!

The most significant thing about Monster Hunter is that whatever platform it's on sells like free money.

Well in Japan. Everywhere else... not so much.

Never found Monster Hunter terribly interesting. I have Freedom Unite and I'll play it now and then but it's still nothing amazing like everyone makes it out to be. The franchise just feels like it relies too much on appealing to kleptomaniacs. Personally I'd just play an open world RPG instead with more to do, more variety, and better story instead.

Although I like Monster Hunter, it's mainly because I like games where I can hunt and make stuff out of the items they give, although I never did understand why there's such a clamour for it in Japan. =S

I don't like the lock-n feature. Glad they didn't made players use that as mandatory in 3G. It makes the game noobish. And hoping that stay the same in 4 or if not remove it at all.

Why does it make the game noobish? When you realize that the Wii doesn't have a right analog stick (unless you use the Pro controller) it makes the game damn hard to play.

Also the 3DS doesn't have a default one. Much to your despair, the fact that the camera works against you is a very important factor in a fast-paced game like MH. The lock-on removes a heavy burden on the player and makes his experience more fun. Try to play Zelda without lock-on or fight a KH teleporting boss without this feature. Also you realize that the fact they made the game more accessible for new players increases the sales and by extension the odds to have 3G or 4 released over here.

Most people can't afford to import a game (region locked at that, so a foreign 3DS system is required) or to play in a language they don't understand.

I just *might* get a 3DS if Monster Hunter 4 will be released in the NoE region. I assume it will eventually, but seeing how long it takes them to prepare Monster Hunter Freedom 3 for us... They'll have to wait a while for my money.

why announce a sequel only for the 3ds? they could have left something for the wii u at least, plus the west gets left out again and we will never see this game in europe ever, also when will capcom ever release a mh for the ps3? they release hd collections for ps3 but don't release proper console games for it, that is really strange.

Well Capcom is good at pushing the 3DS compared to every freaking dev who has had a turn at the 3DS, dem colours!

and draw distance is pretty impressive for the 3DS.
