So my PS3 hasn't been used in about a year now, but I kept it jailbroken.

I now want to start using it again (with online connectivity) so I need to go back to OFW. However, I have some custom certificates, and other stuff I shouldn't have.

Is there a restore functioni I can use that will preserve my user data? Such as logins, gamesaves, etc. I know I could COMPLETELY format it and have everything properly restored, but there are things I want to keep (some save files cannot be backed up).

Or am I going to have to find the original certs (from somewhere online) and put those on, then update to the latest FW?

And before I do go Official again, are there any reasons I should stay on CFW or hold back from updating? I know I wont be able to jailbreak again if I update, but honestly, it's not being used at all in its current state.

Thanks tempers.

Edit: Currently on version 3.60 (some FW release from rebug, a bit dodgy).

First of all if it's jailbroken you're on firmware 3.55, probably with the firmware spoof from rebug on it. Just install OFW on top of it, don't worry about it.
Oh yes, I remember now.

3.55 with a spoof. It has been a year since I even turned it on :P

Well that's fantastic. The custom certs are stopping me from getting online, and I've already updated (So I can't use a file manager and change them)

Edit: DNS-Error 80710104

I've tried rebuilding the OS, fixing the databases, re-doing my internet settings etc etc. Nothing.

Case 1 - You cannot access internet AT ALL
shut ps3 off then reset your router

Case 2 - you cannot access SEN(PSN) but can use the browser
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/restore.html

don't worry about certs they have been replaced when you updated
