Alessa says that when she first found out about anime (she was, maybe 12 or something...) she thought 'sugoi desu ne' was pronounced 'sugg-wah dees-uh nay' and that it meant 'fuck you, yes?'

She was reading a fan translated manga without 'sugoi desu ne' translated at all, just romanized.

Edit) That bit about InuYasha and all that? She remembered that that wasn't the case for this instance at all.
