Kid Icarus Uprising set to become first Nintendo game to use 3DS peripheral.

Nintendo has confirmed the first 3DS game to utilise the controversial Circle Pad Pro add-on will be the long-awaited Kid Icarus Uprising - but it won't turn the game into a twin-stick shooter.

The delayed 3D action shooter joins Monster Hunter Tri G, Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance to become the only first-party Nintendo game to support the Circle Pad Pro - also known as the expansion slide pad.

Kid Icarus Uprising director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that the pad will only enable players to swap hands, meaning that the stylus-based targeting system - which we found somewhat awkward way back the European 3DS launch - will stay.

"The way we are using the Circle Pad Pro in the game is to provide support for left-handed gamers," Sakurai told ONM.

The developer said that he only saw the device after it was announced with Monster Hunter 3G, admitting that twin-stick controls wouldn't suit the game anyway.

Damn, no twin-stick controls... that's what came to my mind when I saw the title.
Well, at least now lefties can play the game without being bothered by the controls(although at a price).

Not meaning to troll or something, but touch-aiming is way better (in precise) than analog stick aiming, right?
If the game is designed with the touch screen in mind, circle pad compatibility would only mean a rushed extra control scheme.

It still sucks tho

Really??? Support for LEFTYs??? Where was this sense of inclusivity when Skyward Sword came out. I WANT LEFT HANDED LINK BACK!
Back on track - is Pit a lefty or a righty?

The fact that left-handed gamers have to acquire additional and clunky hardware makes this all the more controversial, in hindsight something that absolutely needed to be in the 3DS, and will NEED to be in future revisions of the system.

is Pit a lefty or a righty?

I believe that Pit is actually Ambidextrous, let me explain :

I judge by the way he holds his bow and how one holds it in real life. Lefties hold the Bow on their right hand, while Righties hold it on their left.

Nowlooking at Pit specifically : Pit holds his Bow like a lefty in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but like a Righty in Uprising.

Its not an extra control scheme, its not dual analog stick aiming, its the same 1 analog for moving and touchscreen for aiming, what's now being added is the left handed support that poeple wanted. Now lefties can play using the extra analog nub and use touchscreen to aim and play the game how its supposed to be played.

I will not buy it that come with the Circle Pad Pro add on. I will wait for Circle Pad build in add on for the next 3DS lite (hopefully). I dont have 3DS because I knew that there will be lite but if the next lite is disappointment then none for me.
