Hi guys, I just finished downloading COD Black Ops for the Wii. So I tried converting it to .wbfs using WiiBackupManager. So once it was finished. I had 2 files. One is on .wbf1 and the other is on .wbfs. Do I need both to play the game or I can remove the .wbf1 file. And can I rename the .wbfs file so that I won't have to look at it's game code.

hey man

yes you need both files for the game to play and No you can not rename it
all loaders use the game id to load and launch the game so it has to stay that way

Hi JN_big3,

The reason that you have 2 files is that you are using a FAT32 partition which has a file size limit, WBM automatically splits the game in 2 files if the game is too large.
So NO, don't delete the wbfs1 file...

As for your second question, most USB loaders can't read the game if the name convention is not correct...so if you want to change it, change it with WBM. If you look in WBM, in the option menu, there are i think 4 choices...

EDIT: UGGGGGH, always someone that beats you to the punch...nice one scooby

Thanks guys for the quick reply but I have another question. I think that was 1 week ago when I asked a friend to put NBA 2K12 on my External HDD. It is in FAT32. It has an overall space of 298GB if I reffer it on My Computer. So he said that the game is in .iso so I told him that I will be the one to convert it to .wbfs. So when he puts it on my External HDD it says like an error. I think it was talking about like the space of the HDD. My External HDD has like 250GB space!! So he said that he had to format it to NTFS so I just yes because the one's there are only some old movies and musics. So when he tried to put it on my External HDD. It was successful. Why?? Yes it was already formatted to NTFS.

the reason he got the error trying to put it on a fat32 drive is because fat32 has a file size limit of 4 gig
all wii games are 4.37 gig so thats why the error was there
after he(you) changed it to ntfs sure it worked but only a few loaders will play games in .iso format
and from what i hear there are issues with ntfs and playing games

if i were you i would reformat drive to fat32 again use easus partition master or modmii has a good formater in it too
and just redo your games to it

"hey guys, i used a really good program that converts wii games for me, and it worked like it's supposed to. can i just ignore what it did and change stuff randomly?"

"hey guys, i know you explained the 4 GB limit already, but i formatted my hard drive to fit a file bigger than 4 GB, and i just skipped the step where i use that really good program to load stuff onto my hard drive. why didn't it work?"

What did you use to convert the game? Try using WiiBackupManager, Never change anything unless it tould you to do so. In the 4GB thingy, To what kind did you format it to? I recommend you to format it to FAT32 and not NTFS because there are some issues regarding at USB loading in NTFS USBs or HDDs. That's why it didn't work because you skipped a step which is a very dumb thing to do. Also try looking at the forum posted by WiiBricker about cIOS. Also if you plan to resize your game to a smaller size use WiiScribber. Also to what format did you convert the game to?? I recommend you to format it to .wbfs. And also once it is finished in converting, COPY ALL THE FILES THAT WAS CONVERTED!!! ALSO, NEVER RENAME A FILE THAT YOU CONVERTED!!

Oh yeah, I forgot. Do I have to put the folder with files to put on the wbfs folder or just the files?
