Gaming Nintendo 3DS in 5 years time?

Q) Where do you see Nintendo 3DS in 5 years time?

Okay so no one can predict the future, but what I'm trying to get from you guys is what your ideas/what you would like for the 3DS to have in the future. You can go as far as saying nintendo 3DS would have a feature where you can video chat online WI-FI (if that actually happens for the 3DS..then all I can say is WOW!
..and probably faint in mid-sentence) just try not to get off-topic here. So if you like post your views below and who knows a representative of Nintendo may come across this topic and think twice what they implement for the 3DS

I reckon Nintendo will release an update whereby they enable a messenger application where you can message online contacts on your friend list and then switch back into the game/software you was on. Now THAT would be a pretty awesome feature!

5 years:

• At least one revision
• Will have chat feature, text feature
• Connectivity with Wii U
• Abolish FCs after Wii U release (yeah I'll laugh)
• 3DS (old or redesign) will be able to act as a Wii U controller
• Ton of games and a robust eShop

Most of them are just my general opinions, but with the slider pad it seems that the 3DS might have something with the Wii U after all (who knows?)

To be honest with you guys, I would hate to see the 3DS being hacked early. I mean come on that would be a real shame because potential developers for 3DS may become reluctant to make games thinking that it would just be another pirated software. I believe the 3DS is an all in all good handheld console and it deserves to be hack-free for a while. I'm probably gonna get flamed right about now, but I'm just sharing my opinion.

I work hard for my games, like that one time I brought a game from the game store I kinda felt proud playing it Knowing that my hard work payed off at the end, yeah I got a good job and I getting by(trying not to get off-topic here) I don't know if any of you legitimate game buyers actually feel good in buying a game rather than downloading it and then deleting it after you've had enough...treating it as if it were trash, unless were talking about diddy kong racing on the DS than that's an exception (joke )

I'm afraid that's so true..the amount of shovelware on the DS is shocking, but with games such as mario kart DS and LOZ the DS is still doing well up to now.

Whether the 3DS is successful or not is really up to opinion, I'm not trying to say "yeaahh the 3DS is the best handheld ever!" all I'm trying to say is that its a pretty decent handheld. Shovelware was everywhere since the beginning, but again where getting slightly off-topic.

I actually remember one of the first gb game I played which was Dr. Mario pretty addictive actually, oh and I can't forget king of fighters 96 (good old days)

My shovelware comment was a joke.

I shall give an serious opinion. I'll probably end up picking up a 3DS within in five years. I don't see any of the features you mentioned in the OP ever bearing fruit due to Ninty being a bit rubbish in those areas. I've played around with a 3DS and I like the model, it feels good and very nice though I think the D-pad is bit shit. But until the third party stuff comes out, I'll be staying away.
