When I get SNEEK working and after I copy the nand folders to my usb drive, what more do I do to get uneek up and running?

Are there path statements I have to edit so the NEEK is looking at USB:/ and not sd:/?
delete the existing "sneek" and "bootmii" folders on the sd card (and USB if applicable) then use ModMii to just install uneek+di (from main menu, "S" then "1"). So you should have a new bootmii folder and sneek folder on the root of your sd card, a sneek folder on the root of your usb (inside both sneek folders there will be a rev.txt file, inside it should say "uneek+di"), and u should have all the nand folders on the root of your usb HDD.

If u decide to use switch 2 uneek, it would probably be easiest to install uneek+di and an emulated nand ("S" then "3") then afterwards replace the nand folders (ie. found in usb:\nands\nand1\) with the nand u currently have working. Alternatively u could just create a new folder in "usb:\nands\" called whatever u want and copy the working nand folders there, then in switch2uneek select the whatever working nand).

As I'm progressing through this I keep wondering whether my whole problem is the USB drive. Since it's a USB drive, it takes a bit of time for the Wii to recognize it.

I've had a couple Homebrew programs throw an error or freeze because the USB drive isn't available quickly enough.

ex:
FTPii
MyMenuifyMod
CFG-USBLoader (sometimes)

I'm wondering whether the whole process is running into an error because my USB drive isn't recognized quickly enough.

I say this only because I have successfully gotten SNEEK running on my SD-Card twice. But the moment I try to use the nand that works for running SNEEK on my USB drive, the Wii sits there and does nothing. I definitely ran the ModMii module for installing uneek+di as you describe in your first paragraph XFlak. After that, I copied the nand that worked on the SD-Card to the USB drive.

Since this works on the SD-Card and since just about every aspect of hacking this Wii has been successful, I think the modchip can be ruled out as causing this problem.

I'm certainly not gonna give up, but I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback on the USB drive being recognized theory.

ADD: Perhaps the drive recognition delay issue could be eliminated by using switch2uneek, considering the drive needs to be spooled up and available for switch2uneek to see the nand on the usb drive.

did ur HDD come with any software? I know WD and seagate HDDs usually come with software that allows u to change things like the sleep timer, I doubt there's a setting for HDD initialization time, but u never know.

And if ur HDD didn't come with any software, check out Ashampoo HDD Control, more info here:

I just wanted to say thank you! I used to be a noob at hacking Wiis (still am actually...) but your program has helped me and my friends to hack their Wiis. The emulators really helped them (even though I told them not to fr*ckin' pirate!) play their favorite retro games.

Your program made everything so easy! Only an absolute dumbass who couldn't follow directions (one of my friends turned off the Wii during making a backup...) would fail to hack their Wii with this program.

You are epic, XFlak.

I'm using the WD My Book Essential WDBACW0020HBK-01. It is the USB 3.0 + USB 2.0 compatible version. (I've read rumors of the USB 3.0 causing a problem, but I *think* those were in reference to getting CFG-USBLoader working)

I went ahead and checked whether the firmware could use updating. That was up to date.

The Smartware software provided by WD is crap and is not working on my freshly formatted drive.

I'm going to try the Ashampoo HDD Control software you suggested. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'll be back with the results.

Well, Ashampoo didn't really provide any options that would solve the problem I'm dealing with.

I don't really think there's anything that's going to increase the speed with which the drive is detected.

I'm going to try the switch2uneek route with this newly working nand and see where I can get from there.

Well, the SNEEK installation that works fine when using the SD-Card STILL will not work with the USB drive.

I followed your suggestion, XFlak, and just added the nand that's been working in SNEEK as a "nand2" folder inside the usb:/nands/ folder.

I tried both the nand that ModMii generated and the nand that was working through SNEEK. *Neither* nand works. I see the message that the sub-folders are being moved and then the screen freezes on that message and nothing more happens.

I've left that screen sit there for 20+ minutes for both nands. No success. :-(

I'm incredibly frustrated that this will not work, but I'm not sure what more I can do. I'm contemplating just getting a 16 GB SDHC card and resigning myself to a SNEEK+DI installation.

With that configuration I will be able to play my VC/WiiWare game backups (the whole VC/WiiWare library is

Any tips for getting into Priiloader while in the UNEEK+DI environment?
if using switch to uneek. after clicking to enter when the folders are going through moving. after wiimote looses sync (blue light go out). hold the rest button, before the blue lights on wiimote re sync. you should enter priiloader.

Is there a way to get into the priiloader *after* switching the nand or does it have to be done ONLY when switching?

ie: can you enter priiloader once you've switched to uneek+di and the Wii boots into uneek+di?

sure after uneek starts up just press the reset button and hold it down then priiloader should load up

Quick tip for future reference:

If you want to distinguish between the Wii nand and the NEEK nand's Priiloader, simply change the background color setting to opposite colors.

For me => Black Priiloader = Original Wii nand | White Priiloader = NEEK nand

Hope that helps someone working through this.

BTW - not sure if it I just got lucky, but my Priiloader doesn't freeze after 10 seconds. Besides Joostin mentioning it, I've read that elsewhere. Is it *supposed* to happen?

I think ModMii has a problem with converting Gamecube games into DiscEX format.

So far, I've only tried Super Mario Sunshine, and the size of the folder created for SNEEK+DI and DML is not the same as the size of the ISO used to create the folder.

Why? Does it shrink the game? If it does, it appears to break audio streaming games, like SMS...

Are there any other utilities for converting to DiscEX?

EDIT: Using Crediar's DiscEX utility lets the game boot with minor audio errors, but after the opening with the airplane, the game appears to freeze or something. Maybe I should just leave it to load? Perhaps it has a long loading time? If anyone has tested and gotten Super Mario Sunshine working on SNEEK+DI with DML, please post here or PM me! Please!

u can install a priiloader forwarder channel to the emulated nand, u can find one in my priiloader thread

My Topics

edit: btw using this forwarder channel has been said to avoid the 10 sec freeze limit, not that it should matter to you since u don't have that problem anyways, lol

and about converting gc games for dml, that's handled by wimm's iso tools, namely wit.exe, try replacing \support\wit.exe with wimm's latest release, the one that comes with modmii might be a little stale

Just read the changelog for 4.7.3. I have a question about the Wii serial number when building a NAND for S/UNEEK.

When you say that no functionality is lost, does that mean that my remotes will keep their sync as I'm switching back and forth between my real and emulated NAND? If not, I would request that the serial number option be put back in, at least as a standalone option.
