if i might add, i dont see the nds bootstrap logo screen that many recall in here, mine saves file then blank. is it easier if you share a zip w a guaranteed working version where i js gotta add the right autoboot? maybe that way i dont take much more of your time. if useful im playing on ds lite
P.S: Gbarunner2 works perfectly, has to be bootstrap i think

Sounds like something is wrong with your SD card. Try reformatting it and checking it for errors here: https://dsi.cfw.guide/sd-card-setup.html
After that, re-install TWiLight Menu++ here:

ok so i checked the sd as in the guide and all is in order no errors right formatting (just as before).
Then i installed cleanly as in the guide (it was just as i did before tbh) all good menus all good all that but only issue is again as soon as i open a nds game i get the saving screen then blank forever, no bootstrap logo or nothing like that.
Any hints i found is each time i turn my ds again i get asked all over my language and region for the twilight menu (idk if thats supposed to happen) and my settings over the setting menu dont seem to stay after i turn off my ds and turn it back on (custom settings dont save adter closing setting menu)

changed the name of nds-bootstrap-release.nds to nds-bootstrap.nds and now it gives me error 1; nds-bootstrap (release) not found
this means the menu does reach the bootstrap at least when i start the game, but it does get stuck at white screen ever since then.
i have triednto wait but it genuinely takes +5, maybe 10 minutes and nothing happens, firstbtime i got any message ever since starting a game. i think the main issue has to be at that.
1.- bootstrap fails to open fully (not showing bootstrap logo or any process after save file created)
2.- menus work fine but my settings are not changed after i leave the settings menu, only once they changed when i selected a different theme but that theme then got stuck until i took the card off
3.- gba does work, white screen for a minute or so then works
could it be that the R4 ultra autoboot is faulty at some areas? or that a r4i3d new belongs to a different one? but in that case then the menus wouldnt even work and stuck at loading no?
thats the one, its quite new too, bought it last month new.
And im using the R4 Ultra autoboot since it had the compatibility with R4i3d 2012+ and mine is the R4i3d new

everything works but the nds.. i dont know... to me it seems more probable that the flashcard i have is terrible and i didnt know it before buying.
i tried absolutely everything in every way at this point, even older versions i got suggested like 22.17.4, with that one i somehow managed to get a process in the lower screen that stopped at "failed to allocate space for ap fixed overlays"
i think by now it probably has to do with the compatibility of my flashcard and the menu and bootstrap. its barely ever mentioned online, and is not even mentioned on your readme for autoboot, only on the loaders.
either R4 ultra isnt working well for that one or it needs a different one or idek at this point man

You picked the right files, considering it does autoboot to TWLMenu++.
The autoboot readme only lists "R4i3D 2012+" but will be updated in the next version to match the listing from the flashcard loader readme.
With the issues you're having, your only option seems to be to try a different flashcard.

i came across that guide before, yet what would probably help me more is knowing from you as the developer which do you recommend better or which of those will be more safe to work on ds lite and so according to your software not in general

As someone who has watched over development of the DSpico, I recommend that one, as it's currently being maintained by the original developers, and also supports some features that a typical flashcard doesn't (such as file transfer to the microSD card over USB, and using the DS as PC speakers).

so after some checking i found out my sd can write back and forth from itself to the right kernel which in this case for my card is BL2CK, it can run games there too.
It can run well your menu but it cant change setting they just reset everytime i exit them and it cant either activate bootstrap, has to be an incompatibility with this type of flash

Add the DSpico autoboot file (named `_picoboot.nds`) from `TWiLightMenu-Flashcard.7z/DSpico`, overwriting the existing file on the flashcard's SD card root.
