HI Cyan,

I have a 3DS LL whose region was changed from Japanese to European. After changing the region, I tried to download the Twilight Menu using a tutorial.
However, the Twilight Menu does not start, and instead I get the following message:

(An error occurred (ErrDisp)
Error type: generic
Process ID: 19
Process name: am
Process title ID: 0004013000001502
Address: 0x001093aa
Error code: 0xc8804478
Press any button to reboot.)

I would be very grateful in advance if you could help me solve this problem. :)

You didn't bother reading the first post, did you?
Note From Cyan: I'm not the one writing and maintaining this post anymore

I hope you weren't following a Youtube video. https://3ds.guide is the only source you should be using.

Error code: 0xc8804478
You will find that error code listed in https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Error_screens/Luma3DS_ErrDisp with appropriate instructions.

is there a forwarder for open AGB Firm?
There's something like that, but it requires you to use fastboot3DS instead of boot9strap, and while there's probably nothing strictly wrong with that, you're probably going to have trouble finding people who can help you with fastboot3DS if something goes wrong.

Besides, it's still going to require you to reboot your 3DS every time you use it; there's no getting around that.

probably the biggest reason to not use it ngl.

I don't mind rebooting, it was more for convenience for if i was already in 3DS mode playing a game and doing whatever and having a quicker way of jumping into OAF

So i put up a post on the Nintendo 3ds forum about 5 days ago and it's been viewed about 50 times and no-one has left any advice. I'm having a arm11 crash after closing netpass through the homebrew launcher. Netpass never goes past the loading screen. Feel free to look at my post. https://gbatemp.net/threads/arm11-crash-after-exiting-netpass.678832/

i was wondering if i had downloaded the wrong version of gameyob 3ds,as it lags on games like pokemon prism, this doesnt happen on the DS version and DSi,
i am on version 1.0.8
Yo did nothing wrong. Gameyob3ds struggles with many gbc games. You'd better use the ds or dsi versions, which are better optimized.

Hi guys,

I have a Japanese 3DS (firmware version: 4.5.0-10J) and I'm currently using Gateway (GW3D version 11.0.0-33J). This means I'm using an emuNAND, correct?

What steps should I take to start using Luma3DS and Twilight Menu++? Given my situation, what would be the best choice?

You can definitely use Gateway with boot9strap and firmware version 11.17. See https://gbatemp.net/threads/setting-up-gateway-luma3ds-on-11-17-guide.640070/ .

As for how to get there from your current setup, I'm not sure. (If all else fails, you could remove the emuNAND, update, and then re-create the emuNAND.)

So the Luma 3ds cfw is overwriting my actual firmware: (4.5.0-10J) or the GW3D one? And what about the gateway and the microsd inside it? Will I need them after installing Luma?

Luma is a patch for the official firmware, and boot9strap is used to boot Luma.

That depends on whether you want to keep using your Gateway. (Note that if you want to keep using save data created with your Gateway, you will need to find some way to export it first.)

I don't have any game in progress, so keeping savedata is not important.

Hi, what should i know for switching sd card on my modded 3ds?
i have 32gb right now and planning to switch it to 64gb, is moving all files from old sd card is enough?

You should probably test the new card with h2testw while it is empty. And of course you will have to make sure it is properly formatted. (It's easiest to do that with Godmode9.)

I have an old 3ds from release which I then hacked in 2016 but didn't copy sys to emu and rather created a new emuNAND from scratch which I have since transferred to a new 3ds sysNAND. Now I'm wondering if I can at least temporarily copy the activity log over to get the raw times but in the best case scenario even merge both or edit them on a desktop tool instead of Cthulhu? Would it be possible in at least HxD or maybe even notepad++ if it's saved in like a JSON format?
The problem is the nand Backup is from 2016 like I said so it's not up to date with current GM9 standards.. I extracted the CTRNand and thus essentials.exefs and movable.sed but there is no data/sys/{ID}/00020222 for EUR. Only the data for PTM 0001022 if I recall those numbers correctly.
I don't have a the save data backed up from the AL App. For just testing and looking what's in for recoverable data, I would love to be able to load the NAND backup or CTRNand image to Azahar or at least an emuNAND.

So I brought out an old Teal 3DS out of storage and it wanted to update. I went ahead and it updated to the newest version.

Now I'm not sure how to proceed in modding this sucker.

I'm on Ver 11.17.0-50U

Thanks!

EDIT: It sounds like I could have had an easier time modding this if I knew the firmware before I went ahead with the update.

You don't need to be on an older firmware to mod a 3DS anymore. You can use either MSET9 or ntrboot with a compatible flashcart on the current one you have. 3DS Hacks Guide has the steps listed. https://3ds.hacks.guide/
