I don't make it for the Wii U, I make it for the Wii and GameCube.
Forgive my ignorance, but since so many other vWii emulators have implemented the code to allow for GamePad control if installed to a Wii U while not at all affecting how the same version of the app with that additional code plays on a regular Wii or Gamecube; why do you not implement the code to allow it to be the absolute best version of homebrew that it can be across all 3 platforms?

Unless I'm very misinformed, my understanding was, once you input the code in question, it shouldn't interfere with any further general updates you may want to push to the homebrew in the future.

Honestly guys, we should just drop this. @SaulFabre created a pull request for this a long while ago. If he wants to add it, he will add it. If you keep on pushing him, he'll get mad and won't do it at all. Trust me, I know. It's best to just let it be.

Sowden you’re not helping, with this strong this ex-boyfriend energy here,

Extrems, I’m not a developer but I have prototyped two homebrew RGBmodded pieces of hardware that could be compatible or you might find interesting ….maybe we could trade…

If you Could enable gamepad controller support, I Could send you one of my prototyped Gamcube LED controllers with a separate LED rumble circuit and stainless steal kill switch ….I realize there is no rumble if you connect a gamecube controller to a Wii remote like in Not64s wiius case ….but in Nintendont it is Almost too bright, but really gorgeous in a translucent frosted clear shell …. Or used on a real gamecube / Wii …..

but Secondly, if you could also add support for the USB mayflash gamecube controller adaptor ….Like in (Nintendont) ….WHich maybe Could support Rumble, I could also send you a copy of my other Addressable LED Gamecube version that I have prototyped ….With an addressable LED rumble circuit ….and a kill switch. Its also very bright and works through an app on your phone. Both versions work across gamecube/ Wii / Wii u systems , so whatever you want ….But on the condition that I do my release first ….Then I will you send you yours ….maybe thats not appealing, but I built them originally on gamecube and worked backwards So I appreciate the systems .. This was my covid project that I’m trying to finish …

We all Love Your Application, by the way. Thanks for making it ...I'm just a fan of what people have done with homebrew ...

Ex-boyfriend? The hell kind of comment are you trying to make there? I'm coming from discussions that have, long been had from years ago where this had been settled. Some that I can only imagine that you've missed. But sure, okay, I tried. Have at it hass

Sowden, I’m just joking, No disrespect too any gamer community, I’m just trying to be supportive of homebrew and get excited about out Nintendoing nintendo , I understand people take their project where they choose, I only have mad respect for the legacy of the homebrew community and whats been pushed …. As a fan of Nintendo games … but like not the company, as much

...My wife tells me all the time ..she's like "I'm gonna turn you into my ex-boyfriend so quick, if you don't stop fucking around with those retro consoles..."

I thought you were leading with RGB video DACs, but no, it's just some stupid LED strips.

..Ah it sort of transforms into more like an arcade experience, remember those? More than LED strips, there’s circuitry involved, but ah Apologies for trying to transform the experience, whats cool, I think is when you pair that with an Addressable LED Gamecube console . no it's not that 'Extrems’, not like DACs…. Imagine drooling over DAcs ….. But it does make the retro console experience altered , just saying….

The code you're being asked to implement would take minutes, if that. If you won't do it, why not release an open source version for others to fork as they please?

If he doesn't want to add gamepad support then he doesn't want to add it, why is this so hard to understand? its like that Mario Kart 8 modder drama, homebrew developers don't owe y'all sh*t.

What part of my response there was hard to understand? I asked that if he doesn't want to implement code that takes minutes (if that) to implement, why isn't he willing to make it open source? Especially when Not64 to begin with is a fork of the open source Wii64? There is no good logical argument against this beyond needlessly bogarding such content needlessly and greedily to one's self.

It is open source, and the source is made available to you as per the terms of the license. Wii64 also exists.
Not trying to be rude here, but i don't think Not64 is really open source since it needs a custom toolchain (devkitRice in this case) to compile that you don't even release to the public.

And yes, i'm aware about Wii64 that it can be compiled with vanilla devkitPPC toolchain, but can't be Not64 actually be modified to be compiled in vanilla devkitPPC too? Or better, why not release a public version of devkitRice?

The result would be Wii64.

I like how you sugar coat it like that by not telling him straight ….the very same guy who pushed the 18 initial commit pull request, on gitHub ...4 Years ago....

This forum thread should be called, “How to NOT update Not64 ……Maybe we can here from the developer ....
