After many rumours floating around online of a plausible Direct coming in September, this has finally been confirmed by Nintendo themselves in an official announcement through their social media accounts, and this time, it will be a main Nintendo stream instead of an indie or partner showcase.

The Nintendo Direct will air on September 12th, 2025, at 6am PT / 8am Central Time / 9am ET, and will be around an hour long focusing on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 games:

Be sure to catch up the stream and see what Nintendo might hold for players and their Switch 2 hardware.
What are you looking up for this Direct? Besides Metroid Prime 4's release date.

Can't get too excited.
Not like the last ones weren't terrible...

Maybe they'll announce they disbanded their lawyer team

More Switch 1 games and I'll be happy.
NGL

I get more excited over SW1 than SW2 games.
on a friday!?

weird. not like nintendo
They haven't been emselves lately

*rips off nintendo's mask*

Surpris MF's it's been meeee Micro$oft all along*

Wii can't feasibly be added to NSO unless Nintendo were very selective with the game they picked or had to substitute the IR pointer for a mouse, cause well it's missing an IR pointer
I'm pretty sure they used gyro to emulate the pointer in 3D All Stars for Galaxy

The lawsuits direct!

This just in. Nintendo to sue the county of China over the use of the color red in their flag. Nintendo claims the color is too similar to the iconic color used in all promotional advertising and products since the Family Computer (FamiCom) system. China has not responded to these allegations.

Don't give them ideas!

Then the next day:

Nintendo wins YET ANOTHER legal case...

I'm not sure about that case in particular, but Nintendo could give it a reimplementation as a re-release
the problem with gyro is that it's technically more accurate but it can't stay centered to save it's life so it's a pretty sucky pointer. That's why the Wii has a sensor bar. A hypothetical Wii NSO probably wouldn't be able to afford this amount of care on a per-game basis. It's also why we don't see more Wii style controls in games or lightgun shooters on Switch, the HOTD remake dared to try and implement it and it was awful

Why do nintendo even bother with these and why do braindead fanboys get excited.

We all know what shit nintendo are going to release, they release the same shit on each console, now they even port over the same old shit to go with the new recycled old shit.

Shitendo

I'm excited for the Mario movie, and YESSSS Metroid Prime 4 dated finally!!!

Also, new FE. And not only new FE but Fodlan FE with that Sothis drop at the end???? broooo...

Oh look, another Mario movie that'll have absolutely no value in terms of plot or characters and just be a colorful light show full of references for the kiddies. Remember when we valued smart writing in children's movies before we decided eh, fuck it, feed em slop, they'll like it anyway? Can't wait for more corporate-mandated 80s pop songs and warped moral messages.

Prime 4 was thrown out in the middle of the Direct with no fanfare, tossed aside like a shitty pair of underwear, when it seriously looks like GotY material. Has it really been so long since Prime 4 was announced that people just don't give a shit anymore? Not even Nintendo?

So... about that Virtual Boy thing:
  • It's just the head(ache) unit, there is no controller,
  • costs a hundred bucks,
  • or twenty-five for a Labo-like cardboard model,
  • but only in US and Canada,
  • to use with a grand total of 2 games and the faint hope of 12 more,
  • and all of that is useless without a valid online subscription?
They are straight up trolling consumers at this point.
