After many rumours floating around online of a plausible Direct coming in September, this has finally been confirmed by Nintendo themselves in an official announcement through their social media accounts, and this time, it will be a main Nintendo stream instead of an indie or partner showcase.

The Nintendo Direct will air on September 12th, 2025, at 6am PT / 8am Central Time / 9am ET, and will be around an hour long focusing on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 games:

Nintendo has confirmed that its next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place this week.

According to Nintendo, the stream will be broadcast online on Friday, September 12 at 9am ET / 2pm BST, and feature “roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games” – a runtime which makes it the longest ever general Nintendo Direct.

While the full contents of the presentation are currently unknown, the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros is on Saturday, which suggests new Mario-related announcements are likely.
