For now I believe any announcements involving Switch 2 and a game being "leaked" will always mean someone received the physical game early. Only when the scene makes some type of progress and the front page is flooded with news of reputable developers releasing tools for the console will this question become relevant.

So, if you ever feel think oh man "X happened to/for the Switch 2" and there is not a front page post by the fine editors of this site its either:
  • a rumor, not confirmed or reputable
  • you may have misconstrued/didn't understand the context of what you read elsewhere
If there's news, trust the editors here will be on top of it.

I have also read the game also need a day one patch so...
Likely playable, but not in great shape.

And here I thought we could rely on Nintendo for full high quality games on carts... Not even that.

I bet there'll be some controversy with Metroid Prime 4 before it's released.

No one has figured out the decryption keys for the ROMs yet, so no, there are still no ROM dumps for Switch 2 games.

But if I were to guess, the format would be .nsp - it stands for "Nintendo Submission Package" (i.e. not anything console-specific) and it's not like Old 3DS and New 3DS games also didn't use the same .cia format.

title keys will be available sooner than you might think, anyone at all can already freely download the nintendo switch 2 firmware without issue right now
No you can't, any searches for Switch 2 firmware only bring up ethier hits for S1 firmware or newsposts about the newest updates, and Belive it or not, the Switch 2 is actually different to Switch 1.

I'd love to see how you managed to find downloads for something that nobody has been able to dump at all yet for someone who just joined today.

it's still leak
coz he got it
before the official release date

leak is a leak xD
Leaked- A working dumped ROM shared to the piracy community.
Getting a game before release date is not leaked, just lucky. Or you have a buddy who works at Walmart willing to sell before he supposed to, Not a Leak!

In all sense of the name in retail, that is a leak isn't it? But it isn't a traditional leak in piracy terms no.
I understand what you mean but personally I don't think it's really a leak per se, the game is just already in some stores.

I use the word leak when we get information about a game well in advance of its release or stolen images of the game, and I also use the term when the game is dumped on the internet before release.

But here everything remains “controlled”, it's not really a situation that puts Nintendo in a bad position or something they really fear
