Open Cave, create 4.1 database in atmosphere -> contents

...

Any idea on why it doesn't work?

That right there!

It sounds like you are creating your database directly on your SDcard. That is absolutely not how this is supposed to be done.

You are supposed to create a database on your hard drive. Pick a folder on your C, D, etc drive, create a database there, add games to it... THEN the Syncing process is what copies the database to your SDcard.

Wow, lmao, I didn't even realize that. I had no issues with any of the other shops, NES etc, it all worked. But, thank you very much, I'll try that!

Sadly, it still freezes, when launching the SNES app. I've made sure to set it to 4.1 in CaVe, which is the version on my switch.

Nvm, I fixed it now, by deleting Super Soccer. HOWEVER, I patched Plok with the Robin64 Patch, and it does not show up in the SNES app, whatsoever.

Last edited by LaurenPol,
I've connected the microSD from my Switch to my PC via USB and a microSD reader, yet the "Sync" option refuses to enable, what gives? How do I enable it?

Hi. I'm trying to add Shantae Advance ROM, using different types of ROMs, and all of them show the error "Invalid characters in the path". Also tried translation romhacks of Mother 1+2 and Mother 3, both of them worked as it should have.

after i accidentally replace stock game with an incompatible game (namely super mario all star with smas + smw) the app stuck at logo and now i want to wipe clean the database to resync
how can i do it?

You create a brand new database (File > New > NSO database) for the SNES that you save somewhere else and hit 'Sync database' while having your console connected with DBI.

i did, but doesn't work
also i ensured that the database version match the app version

Download fresh copy of CaVE 1.5.0.5 & Uncompress

On first run:
  • asks for locale -> OK
  • prompts for a series of NSO updates -> NO
  • CaVE main window (blank) flashes then silently closes
Run again:
  • prompts for series of NSO again -> YES
  • Downloads for some time
  • CaVE main window (blank) flashes then silently closes
Tried running as admin, even if it should need to. Doesn't change anything.

🤷‍♂️ ?

Excellent software. Ran into an issue perhaps.

Creating an SNES database using CAVE 1.5.0.4. This version supports up to SNES Online version 4.0 but the latest SNES FULL UNLOCK patch only goes up to 3.7. Is there an updated method of how to full unlock SNES games for the database manager while in version 4.0 or is 3.7 the highest supported version for full unlock.

Previous New (06-20-2025)
CaVE v1.5.1.0 is out now!

This version added support for N64 v4.0 & N64 MATURE 17+ v2.0, and... I guess its a month late... but GB v2.1. (Sorry. I added it to my calendar wrong... and no one spoke up...).

Most notable is the N64 v4.0 & N64 MATURE 17+ 2.0 support. No new games were added in that update, but support for custom button mapping was added. And now CaVE supports that.

---

Of note... we were || that close to CaVE getting cancelled. As should be known by now, I make CaVE and such for the supporters. The people that actually keep the project going. Not people who act like entitled leeches... which are far too common among those who don't support the project. And sadly... There was another entitled leech that did some damage by releasing the Patreon build publicly.

But since the utter moron did so... a whole 1 day before the same build was set to go public anyway... I decided otherwise.

This is just a reminder. You are not entitled to CaVE or DisplayEx. I choose to make it for people who show support for me and the project. I just happen to release it publicly too, to deter such morons from such things. If idiots insist on doing that... the project ends. Simple as that.

Full Unlock goes up to v4.1 actually. Maybe... try deleting it and the "update_2025-03-28.json" file, then restart cave. this would force it to recheck and redownload the update and that mod.

For some reason, n64 4.0.0 update doesn't download for me. When I open the app, a pop-up appears saying that an update is available, but when I press "yes" to download it, nothing seems to happen. The most recent version of n64 in the app is still 3.1.0

I also have the issue of not getting N64 4.0.0 update. I checked the update_2025-05-23.json file and it seems to only contain updates for "0100C62011050000" and "0100395011044000" so only Gameboy 2.1.0.0. Also the json file is not minified like the other update files. That would seem to be the issue I guess.
Anyways @DarkAkuma thanks for still keeping this app updated!

Hello everyone, so I have the same problem, when I try to update it closes the update screen, but nothing about the Nintendo64 base v.4.0.0, has anyone found a way to fix it? @DarkAkuma

Is there any way to get the link to get the SNES Nintendo Switch Online Full Unlock v4.1.0 ips file because I can't find it anywhere. May you please help me?

One question, were you able to update to access the n64 update 4.0.0?
No but that is because I am on firmware 19.0.1 so I don't need it. I just need the SNES Nintendo Switch Online Full Unlock v4.1.0 so I can add SNES sfroms. But no matter how hard I try I just can't find it. I wish someone would help me get the link to download the ips file

Are there mac users here? If so, have you managed to run CaVE? I tried so using a Parallels VM with Windows11 arm, and also Crossover (with a win10 64bit bottle), and both get the same issue twice: when running CaVE, I get the update prompts, then the green loading progress bar, then the main window canvas of CaVE flashes for a few milliseconds and closes silently. I wonder what is going on here. thanks in advance for any help.
