I need help to run hekate on my switch,

I have 2 v1 (one mine one my kid), Mine was in FW 14.X.X and due to a game I had to update to 19.0.1 everything went ok (downloaded the FW, installed with daybreak, all apps updated [tinfoil, ftp, DBI...]) so now my kid wants the same game and I do the same with his however... when sending 6.3.1.bin on tegra the screen starts flashing real fast (managed to record it and slow-mo to read)
first screen yellow letters
FYMP>|MNOcITSbuuC
Press any key..
that stays for like 4 frames then I get
[hekate v6.3.1]
launch
--------
Tools
Console info
reload
reboot OFW
reboot CFW
power off
about

and at the bottom
Warning Nyx is missing!

I remember having some issues with certain builds of hekate so I tried booting in tegra with hekate 6.0.3 that it is the ussual that I boot up with that switch but that one just stays with a blank screen and if I do the complete 6.0.3 files on the SD i just get an error "HOS not supported"
If I boot normally it goes into OFW no problem

P.D. already redownloaded the files to discard damaged files downloaded, already formated the SD to discard damage on files

I read somewhere (don't know if I can post the link or not) someone having a similar issue
If I use the original Hekate without the TUI(the orininal can't into the TUI), the SD info shows 5 init errors, if I use Hekate compiled after adjusting the position of display_init(), the init error on the SD card info is 0.
and that was his fix for that

Any advise on what to do? or how to make it boot CFW again?

Using Hekate should not be anything more than downloading it from Github and putting it on the SD card.

Maybe something is wrong with your SD card (or the board inside the Switch).
Sometimes it helps to do a clean install because old stuff can breaks things.
If you have another SD card, just try it once.

Thanks for the replay, I already tried with several SD's (adata 64, 256, 512, sandisk 128, 256, kingston 32, 256, 512)

none of them will boot into CFW however all off them will show the HOS not supported and all of the menu if I place the files for hekate 6.0.3

Just confirming, you copied the contents of the Hekate repository to the microsd before attempting to boot and send the payload via tegrarcmgui?

Hekate can be looked at as two pieces, the bootloader (payload.bin sent from tegrarcmgui), and NYX (The Hekate UI copied to the SD Card). Normally, the bootloader launches NYX from the SD Card. If it cannot then you get that text menu. I would download a fresh copy of Hekate and copy it to a clean SD Card then try again.

I did, and already tried with clean install and reformated with multiple sd's as well asredownloaded to make sure I didn't had corrupt files, funny enough if I boot with 6.0.3 it does showme the regular hekate menu however it will say that HOS is not supported, no problems with the sd reader also (on 6.0.3 using the usb to check write and read)

If you tried from scratch with 8 different SD cards and it's still not working, you're absolutely doing something wrong along the way and there's no way for us to know which step is causing the problem. About the only thing you could do is record yourself setting it up on a fresh SD card and uploading the video to YouTube for people to look at. Kinda sounds like mismatched versions of Atmos/Hekate/FW.

Use next steps to test everything:

  • Download the test payload https://gbatemp.net/download/fusee-test.38122/ and inject it to the console, if the next screen is displayed, your injection method, cable and port are working fine.

  • then use a card, first format it to fat 32 using fat32 format (https://gbatemp.net/download/gui-format.33869/) then test your sd card using H2Testw https://gbatemp.net/download/h2testw.39119/ then download Hekate (even if you think you have latest) from the GitHub https://github.com/CTCaer/Hekate/releases and extract it to the root of the card.
Inject the hekate_ctcaer_6.2.2.bin file as the payload and let us to know the result.

Thanks but I'm doing the same thing that I did with the other switch and that one boots just fine

Thanks, this is really helpful, downloaded and ran the test, got the same screen and with a timer.

Formated a 64gb sd so it doesn't take that long and right now testing with h2testw, will let you know the results.

I'm not sure how one reply was any more or less helpful than the other. You already said you reformatted all of the sd cards and already made sure you were using the latest versions of things. My suggestion was so we could see exactly what you were doing step by step. Impeezas suggestions (as valid as they may be) were just trying a test payload then basically having you do the same things you said you had already done. ;)

Why not try the latest FW with the latest Hekate and the latest Atmosphere? Still sounds to me like mismatched releases of things that don't necessarily like to play nice with each other.

Can you give a more helpful answer please?

the steps are designed to isolate each component and try to diagnose the real cause.

I did give two suggestions that I thought could be helpful. But you seem to have misinterpreted something or taken something the wrong way and I'm not sure why. I only said that I didn't see how my suggestions were any more or less helpful. That's not saying yours were not helpful. I even made a point to be clear that I wasn't saying your suggestions were not valid.
