Check out the awesome project here!

Quick Start

  • Requires a supported copy of the game (See supported games below).
The instructions below haven't been updated in a while. Join the official Discord for updated builds and support.

Releases:

  1. Download the Khan Charlie 6.1.2 .zip from here or the #downloads channel on the official Discord.
  2. Download the PC OTRGui version from here.
  3. Use OTRGui to create an oot.otr archive file. If you already have a oot.otr file for the latest PC version, you can use that as well.
  4. Copy the oot.otr file to the wiiu/apps/soh/ folder on your SD Card.

Nightly Builds:
:!:
The nightly builds come with up-to-date features, but are experimental. Use at your own risk.
  1. Download the latest soh-wiiu and soh-windows artifact.
  2. Use OTRGui from the soh-windows.zip to create an oot.otr archive file. If you already have a oot.otr file for the latest PC nightly version, you can use that as well.
  3. Copy the oot.otr file and the contents of the soh-wiiu.zip to the wiiu/apps/soh/ folder on your SD Card.

Missing features

  • Three-point filtering
  • MSAA (pretty pointless on Wii U)

Is there a way to disable the mini map? Maybe I am overlooking it. All in all though, awesome port. In case it matters, I have the latest version of Aroma as of this writing.

(I just got a Wii U a few days ago as a trade for what used to be my Dreamcast and some games.)

In the original game, you could disable the minimap by pressing the L button IIRC. So try pressing whatever you have that button mapped to, see if it works.

No button will disable it. And yes, I have played this game quite a lot on both emulators and real hardware and I know how to disable the mini map on the N64 versions. However on this port, no button will disable it.

That means you don't have the L button mapped... bucko. i just played this yesterday.

Mods work with the lastest builds, in the same ways as mods are used in the PC version (mods folder and otr files), though only lightweight ones, simple model and texture swaps shouldn't be too much of a problem, I got the 3DS model to work for example, but the bigger ones like the HD texture packs might cause slowdown and crashes.

My experience is different, I'm trying the 3DS texture pack + the 3DS models and the game freezes on an infinite loading when trying to open it (in the Wii U menu).

I'm on the latest build.

Does anyone know about a modpack that works well on wii u?

This Legacy 3DS texture pack does work.

**(Legacy) 3DS Character Pack

But This is the one I want:

Djipi's 3DS Experience + Skilar's Art Plus Link

I've tried converting the current HD pack to the old .otr texture file format, that the Wiiu's v8 Harkinain requires .....it boots up but it won't load Any of the HD textures ..... I guess the file structure was broken in the conversion maybe ....

..I'm wondering if SomeBody has a Legacy Version of the mod pack ? ...... built With the .otr files......Wiiu Harkinian Might be interested ....

This Could Absolutely be .... But if I only try to apply Skilar's Art Plus Link after converting the o2r textures ..... back to otr files .... that pack is like 3 Mbs ... this should load fine ..... But still no loading go on..... .it loads them into ram (because it takes longer and harkinian interface gets lagged), but it won't display the converted files .. .... Which makes me think that by trying to convert the o2r files I'm breaking the file references and 'thats why it's not loading ' ....The only way to know is to run the old files ..... Because even if you couldn't;t get Djp's 3DS Experience, maybe we get Skilar's Art Plus Link...PLus the **(Legacy) 3DS Character Pack with the shield pack .... switch the characters you like better ....Thats still an all around upgrade over basic harkinian v8....not 4k but ahh....

*Edit - tried decompressing the individual .o2r files in Djipi's 3DS Experienced then resizing the textures to a max of 1024 x 1024 then recompressing and converting everything back into .otr files ....still nothing.....loading takes forever, then it loads standard textures.....everything is in ram because harkinian menu is so slow.........plays fine 30fps....

I realized it was running two texture layers , standard AND then the mod....All in Ram.....
thats the way harkinian rolls....

So I tried -decompressing my original oot.otr rom.....
-Replacing and Baking in all my mod textures with a Python script
- Then reassembling said rom .....

Now when I I Launch my harkinian ship it says I have an " 'OLD otr" - Get a new one ! "

tried a few different python compressions to get all the proper headers and push them back into my re baked file... still nothings.... 'OLD otr" - Get a new one ! "
--back to the drawing board------- abandoned that plan ....

Back to regular harkinian and the mod Folder :

I Considered it was maybe the 'Modern PC-color data' fucking up my wiiu pipeline. So I crushed the color data down to 8 bit from modern 32 bit color or whatever with the modern extra cooler data ripped out....and repeated the .otr file compliation, still nothing......

..tried repeating to crush all textures to 512 x 512 pixels maximum, with 8 bit color, still the same results....

Then I came across this older mod for Rice and Glide 64 :

Download Djipis 2014 NEW Ocarina of Time Texture Pack

https://emulationking.com/nintendo/...me/texturepacks/djipi2014new/#google_vignette

this looks like it Could be THE One ... 88 Mbs total ......Textures look incredible over base ocarina, all the file references are wrong because its built for Rice or Glide64 ocarina, not harkinian. but Size-wise Visuals-Wise ...It looks like they might fit the bill.... The screenshots of this mod are visually hitting with the same impact as "Twighlight Princess Wiiu Hd Remake" in 1080p....
