I have a save game on Pkmn TCG GB2 that I have played to completion through virtual console that I now want to play on the GameYob emulator. I have tried exporting the save with Checkpoint and moving that save to the folder that I use for GameYob but it does not detect any save slots for the game. This also after converting the save (with Shuny) from .dat to .sav. How else could I go about this?

Are you referring to GameYob on the 3DS, or GameYob on a PC, or what?

GameYob will have its own file somewhere for storing the save data. You will need to overwrite that existing file if you want to use different save data. If you did not overwrite an existing file when you moved the save, then you are either looking at the wrong folder or you are using the wrong filename.

GameYob on the 3DS.

As far as I can see, GameYob stores the save files wherever the ROMs are. I just renamed the .dat save files from the VC exports to match the ROM name in the hopes that it would detect it, but it did not, so that should rule out the problem of filename. Of course, the other saves in the folder are .sav, whereas the save file i want to move is .dat. As I mentioned, though, converting the file to .sav using Shuny did not work.

Let me rephrase that:

Start a new game in GameYob, save your game, and verify that you can re-load the saved game. If you copy your converted save data to the relevant folder (overwriting the existing .sav file), does GameYob then say that the save data is blank?

Also, is the file you're overwriting exactly the same size as the converted .sav file?
