Generally people here use Hekate for NAND backup.

I did use hekate's usb tools, but nxnandmanager on the pc.

I could use just hekate though I was just wondering if what i backed up is fine as is or if the program needed the prod keys or bis keys

You might be missing stuffs to be honest, and last release was two years ago

https://github.com/eliboa/NxNandManager

Hmm I don't know, but I guess I can do it with just hekate in case, shouldn't take me too much extra time.

One more question but when it comes to those key files from lockpick, those don't need to be rebacked up after updates right? I assume they don't change since the first backups.

If there is a new master key then you would have to rerun the lockpick rcm to get the new keys.

I'm still using the same switch, so it should be the same?

Does it ever change just by updating firmware or burning fuses?
And how does sysnand vs emunand firmware versions being different affect what i should back up ?

Usually when a firmware first digit number jump to their next number Usually there is a new masterkey. In terms of fuses it is up to Nintendo when they want to burn a fuse,

For example of fuses
System version Expected number of burnt fuses (retail) Expected number of burnt fuses (non-retail)
1.0.0 1 0
2.0.0-2.3.0 2 0
3.0.0 3 1
3.0.1-3.0.2 4 1
4.0.0-4.1.0 5 1
5.0.0-5.1.0 6 1
6.0.0-6.1.0 7 1
6.2.0 8 1
7.0.0-8.0.1 9 1
8.1.0 10 1
9.0.0-9.0.1 11 1
9.1.0-9.2.0 12 1
10.0.0-10.0.4 13 1

Ok thanks. I'll backup my sysnand keys then.
But my emunand is higher firmware than it. Should I backup the emunand keys too? Is that something people do?

You just need your sysnand key if your firmware are up to date. But in your case you would dump your emunand keys since it is higher firmware.

Then you select emunand when you dump your keys, depending which one is at the higher firmware. I edited my previous post.
Oh really, so I need the emunand's because it's later?

One last question besides that, but other keys like bis keys need to be re-backed up too when updating?

Generally the purpose of rerunning lockpick_rcm is to get the new masterkey along with the rest of rest of the keys. Rerunning lockpick_rcm when there is a new masterkey get you an updated prod.keys

Yes I know it can get prod and title keys. But what about bis keys and the others?

So, is there a guide regarding how to chip your Nintendo Switch?

I just recently cancelled my order with the MIG as I noticed many people are saying it'll get you banned and it's unplayable without the certifications.
