Hey everyone, i think i bricked my Switch.
I couldn't enter Sysnand anymore after firmware update but emunand worked. So i wanted to restore my eMMC Backup i made when i first modded my switch.
The first thing i did is i restored BOOT0 and BOOT1 which did fine but when i tried to restore rawnand i encountered an error that the file is too large. No problem i thought.
I just turn of my console, plug in a SD Card with exfat partition and the required files.
So i turned it back on and BAM! there was my Problem!
Blue Screen of Death right after turning it on. No logo no anything.
my console normally boots directly into RCM, so i thought the restored BOOT lead to a normal start or something, so i tried reentering RCM Manually but i still get the Bluescreen immediatly after trying to turn it on.

Saddly i did not find any help online. Most posts about Blue Screen state that they can still see the bootlogo, enter maintenance mode and hetake.. but i can't.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Sadly, I can't really help you with the issue as I have no experience with restoring backups, but I'd suggest that you create a separate thread on the Switch forum so that your post doesn't get buried up here instead.

Is there any homebrew that can keep my Switch awake indefinitely in docked mode? I've tried changing TV settings, but my TV screen still goes dark in 5 minutes.
Disable auto sleep in TV mode? Check your TV settings as well since Switch should be awake if you set the auto sleep to Never.

I've tried all the settings, but it still gets dimmed after 5 minutes. My TV doesn't have any settings for auto dimming, and it never dims when I connect it to my computer.

Ah, you have the "Screen Burn-in Reduction" turned on under System Settings > TV Output. Disable it and it shouldn't get dimmed anymore. By "going dark" in your previous post I thought you meant it "goes black". My bad. :D

I keep threat modeling a bit in my head, but isn't it a bad idea to boot OFW with an SD Card full of "circumvention software", even if it's not running (current precident aside)? I'd actually also really appreciate if sys and emu CFW could have separate switch folders, so I can never accidentally open anything obviously dangerous on sys.

When you create an emuNAND, it's a copy of your sysNAND at that point in time. But from then on, they are completely separated. What you do on sysNAND, stays on sysNAND, and what you do on emuNAND stays on emuNAND. They don't see each other, and don't communicate. As for the content of your SD card with hacking files on it, to the best of my knowledge, Nintendo doesn't scan your SD card to detect these kind of files. They have other ways to find out if you've been naughty.

sorry, by switch folder, i meant the literal switch folder hbmenu starts looking in

There's always a (minimal) risk when running homebrew on sysNAND. As long as you don't cheat online, or install pirated content, you shouldn't get banned, but the risk is always there if you're doing something you shouldn't be able to do. Probably best to only use emuNAND (offline) for homebrew, if you want to be 100% safe from any banning.

And that's why I'd love to have a separate switch folder load up on sys, so I can't accidentally forget what I booted into and can't even load any risky nro's. I mostly got my switch modded so I can backup my legit saves and run sys-clk, but now that I could slip into a title installer in hblauncher (i am very scatterbrained) I've just been spending time in emuMMC instead...

Maybe I should just use a different SD card.

Hi all. Noob here. I'm wondering if you can help an old fart with his seemingly broken switch? Sorry in advance, I'm gonna use wrong terminology.

I'll try to be quick.

Had a homebrewed (hacked/whatever) switch for a couple years with my friend's advice on setting it up. Loved it. Then I put it away about a year ago and decided to set it back up.

I followed the usual procedure. Battery was dead, gave me the little red dead battery icon. I have it on autoRCM so I take it to the PC, let it charge a bit, inject hekate, let it charge some more, then go and quickly charge it on dock for a while.
This time, I got as far as injecting hekate but it died before I could get it plugged in. I took too long and was too impatient.

Now unfortunately it is acting like a dead brick. My PC doesn't recognise it, Various combinations of pressing power button, holding it in for 20/40/60 seconds, using vol up and down buttons doesn't work. I left it connected to the Switch charging cable overnight, no change. I've tried different USB ports and cables, no luck.

I don't know how relevant this is, but I plugged it into the dock and the dock started rapidly flashing green light - even after removing the Switch, it kept going until I took the power cable out.

I've tried holding the power button in to ensure it's switched off then leaving it to charge. Nothing. Just a dead screen, no battery icon or anything.

Even tried connecting it to my phone and using rekado, but the phone doesn't see the switch.

I'm really sorry if you guys have answered this a million times. Your site pops up in google searches and I have tried my best to find this solution. I know you are all probably sick of autoRCM issues by now. But I haven't found a solution yet.

Anyway, thanks!

Hi all
I have for a few weeks been running the latest Atmospher and Hekate. Didnt have any problems. Tonight i wanted to update the firmware from 18.x to 19.0.1

I only updated the firmware in my emunand ONLY

All went well except the switch v1 doesnt wake from sleep
I have to force a shutdown and then jump into CFW. I have tried docking it in the official dock but nothing wakes it
Any ideas?
Thanks

Ran into an issue....the back panel on my switch despite being screwed in, is bending a little and coming off slightly!

I wonder if this is due to overheating? I'll send a picture, I hope I can still use it to game...

Any reason why this might have occurred? Maybe 19.0.1 hasn't fixed the overheating issues for all switches!

It looks like a battery swelling issue. This is a fire hazard. You should open your Switch and replace the battery. Be careful with that, as I said, it could cause a fire in your house. You can read about it.

Ok, i'll have to open it up, got a few more questions

Where can I order a replacement battery?

Also, Do you know which screwdriver type I need for my Nintendo Switch, to open it up?

Finally, where can I get a replacement back panel?

Thanks again

I never replaced my battery and never opened my Switch, so I honestly don't know. Other knowledgeable members will hopefully chime in. You could also open a new thread and ask directly, that would make sure you're more visible. In the meantime be sure to not charge your battery, and store your Switch in a fireproof place, I guess.

Nope. It's always been off.

Hey! I'm running in to an issue when trying to Backup/Migrate to new SD Card on Hekate, where it can't find the partition when trying to backup after turning SD partition "ON". Looks like other Mac users are experiencing this due to unwanted files that Mac creates. I tried using the "FIX RAW" option as recommended, but it is greyed out? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Console Error:"00: BOOT0…Failed to find a partition…01: BOOT1…Failed to find a partition…"

Hi I used hb Linkaalho 2.0.1 on my FW 18.1. 0 with atmo 1.7.1. After using it, it doesn't actually ask about linking the account, but instead this error appears. Is this normal?

After clicking "OK", the game starts normally.
