I have never seen an option to speed up the game on the flashcard, nor have I ever seen it advertised.

I went back through their user manual as far back as 2018 using archive.org (and I've checked a handfull of archived pages between then and now), and I simply can not find any mention of any such feature.

Can you tell us which page (URL) you saw that information posted in the past?
He is asking a reseller about the function so I doubt it really was a feature in the past.
I already messaged @EZ-Flash2 to check if it's true, since only in that reseller's page is mentioned.

This is absolutely not true at all. EZFlash got back to me. They have removed the feature silently without telling anyone in an update. Even if you or other people didn't notice, it was there for years even if no one bothered to read the manual. I used it all the time. I had to email them every single day for them to realise I wouldn't stop without getting an explanation.

Because they did this and for such ridiculous reason instead of making it a toggle option like so many other other have done, and only did they update everything on their site after I complained. They agreed to me returning the flash cart. It is completely useless without this feature and it is the only reason why I bought it and not an Everdrive. If I wanted 1x speed GBA, I could just use an FPGA core or emulator. I bought this specifically for 2x speed FPGA.

Looks like the only option now is waiting for Budude2 to hopefully finish his GBA core someday.

BOTH had the feature. They disabled it on both. Check the above reply. It's honestly crazy how few people really understand this, and I absolutely cannot fathom why they would remove a working feature just because in their arguing; some devices cannot supply enough power and it was "confusing". It should have been an option to toggle on/off in the BIOS, with a warning about power consumption. No ones device ever died from using this feature. So removing it is just plain idiotic business reasoning as usual. I'm absolutely sick to death of seeing companies do this and they don't even have the balls to announce it publicly. Yet instead leave their users feeling gaslit. Tidal Music did the same thing removing crossfade as a feature and their reasoning was "Oh not that many people used it". That is not a reason to remove a perfectly working function.

I'll be sending the cart back for a refund first thing Monday morning for a refund.
Will probably send the money immediately to budude2 to support his work on the GBA core.
Stop spreading misinformation pls.

I wandered into this post and saw this debate about fast forwarding. Around the beginning of November, our dealer had sent us a letter asking us about this function, and the reply we gave was the same. We have never had such a function on our products, I don’t know what the email screenshot is about.

This level of gaslighting is literally insane.

It is literally listed as a feautre on the non-DE version of EzFlash on the website. I have never seen gaslighting of this tier in my entire life. But sure, okay it never existed. Just totally imagined!

I'm actually curious, if we had the ability to develop this feature and actually had users using it already (presumably you're the only one in the world), I would have included it at the top of the list of product features and bolded it, rather than quietly removing it as you say, when it's clearly a feature that would allow me to get more customers, don't you think?

Still waiting on you showing us where it is advertised, because I don't see it.
Insane gaslighting, indeed.

Look, we have lots of reasons to criticize both the company and its products - or at the very least, request features and fixes which seem reasonable and not exactly complex. The rep/dev must see those same comments, and choose not to reply for their own reason. Maybe 'The Boss' doesn't wants to be bothered with this stuff, idk.

Now, @825i show us any kind of proof that it was ever a thing. Heck, shows us the Wayback Machine mirror where it appears!
The earliest mirror of the page doesn't shows anything resembling such a feature: https://web.archive.org/web/20180325145825/http://www.ezflash.cn/product/omega/. Not only it appears as a made up complaint, maybe looking for some kind of response in their favor, but it also damages the reputation of the community. We don't ask for nonsense, or super complex things given the hardware in use.

For example: EZO/EZODE doesn't supports all kinds of save formats. EEPROM save files are formatted differently depending on the emulator or piece of hardware used. This is the reason why a converter like this exists, and it's a change that I hope keeps being adopted by emu and flashcart devs, since the current format being used is wrong: https://sonosoos.github.io/hbrew/oaf/convert.html @Sono

Again, such complaints like the one made by @825i only damage the community in the eyes of manufacturers that decide to interact with us. Unless proven wrong, @825i, you're lying.

I own the Omega Definitive Edition and this is the first time i heard about this alleged feature. Real hardware is not emulation. You can't speed up the game apart from frame skipping with cheats maybe or overclocking via hardware mods which is problematic with most flashcarts.

Bud, when I tried to help you on Reddit about this "issue", you send me to a reseller page claiming it was the real EZ-Flash one, that indeed said that there was a FF hotkey:

Then, you told me that you already contacted EZ-Flash via e-mail, which you didn't and contacted this reseller as you showed in #1312:

And even then, they already deleted that claim in their page since your e-mail:

Fam, I already told you on Reddit, EZFlashOmega.com IS NOT @EZ-Flash2, THEY'RE A RESELLER AND THAT FEATURE NEVER EXISTED. Stop being stubborn and accept that indeed, you imagined all, or just stop being a liar here, since you're just complaining and as @BETA215 said, it's damaging to make such bold statements and then claim to be "gaslighted" by the company.

Does the Autostart first game in NOR when holding L on boot work for you guys? doesnt seem to work for me, but maybe im doing something wrong. But great download really like it!

I keep getting the message "FIRMWARE UPDATE Current firmware version: V45056 Please use the OFFICIAL kernel to update firmware. Sorry." using SimpleDE 1.5 with EZ flash Omega DE kernel 1.05 firmware 7.0 every time I start up the system. I'm able to still use the cart by pressing B to dismiss the message, I'm wondering if the next update will get rid of it outright.
Also some games won't save like Mario & Luigi and I'm wondering if that's a problem with the SD card on my end or if it's a problem with SimpleDE?

What if you do what the message says?

Thanks! I’m adding some extra features to it as well, one thing I just finished implementing is a cleanup of the “Recently Played” screen:
  1. Removed the folder paths so only the game name is shown
  2. Added game system icons
  3. Made the screen scrollable and increased the total list size from 10 up to 64
  4. Fixed an issue with the clock showing up and overlapping the title
In terms of the design, I'm creating the theme in a 2-bit style like the original Gameboy (i.e., only 4 colors). The current style is similar to the classic Gameboy green, but I'm going to rewrite the code so that the theme can support custom palettes, similar to the way the Gameboy Color colorizes original Gameboy games. The theme is currently a "light" theme, I intend to also support a "dark" version as well.

I'm also looking at customizing the fonts, if it's possible within the GBA's memory limitations I might try to include a list of user-selectable fonts.

Once I get a little further along and have more to share, I'll start a new thread so I'm not clogging up @Sterophonick's thread here 😄.

EDIT: With some tips from Sterophonick to point me in the right direction, I managed to crack the code on generating new font files for the EZ Flash! To celebrate, I loaded up my cartridge with this fun but ridiculously unreadable font 😝

Just bothering again cause I really like it xD if you ever feel like sharing it, it would be delightful <3

Pressing B just dismisses the message but it reappears next time you boot the console.
You say you have firmware v7, but the error seems to point to a different version. Maybe the update got corrupted? Have you tried installing the official kernel? It should be able update the firmware, Simple Light is not able to update the firmware.

Wow yes you are correct, since I just bought this flashcart, I had to update it first with the official firmware and THEN install the Simple one. No more error when booting.

does anyone know why romhacks like Pokemon GS Chronicles or Pokemon Unbound dont work on the EZ Flash Omega DE (I have REV B)
