"Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition" coming to Nintendo Switch

One of the few remaining games that was still trapped on the Wii U console is now escaping its entrapment and making its way to the Nintendo Switch in 2025.

Out of the blue, Nintendo released a brand new trailer today for an upcoming remaster release of "Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition" for the Nintendo Switch, with improved visuals and added story elements. Xenoblade Chronicles X was originally released for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2015, and it was still one of the very few titles that remained exclusive to the Wii U. With this new announcement, this marks yet another title from the failed Wii U that makes its way into the Nintendo Switch, like Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D World and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, to name a few.

Rebuild humanity and survive on the mysterious planet Mira in this open-world action RPG! This visually enhanced version includes newly added story elements and more. The Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition game launches on the Nintendo Switch system March 20, 2025. Pre-orders are available now on Nintendo eShop.

The list of Wii U titles that are still exclusive to the system keeps shrinking, but there are still a handful of main titles that have yet to make their jump into the Switch, like Devil's Third, Star Fox Zero, the original Splatoon, and of course, the two most requested ports to the Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD & The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, with many rumours floating around for years now about both of them coming to the Switch at some point.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch consoles on March 20th, 2025.

Why ignore other wiiu exclusives lol
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Paper Mario: Color Splash
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival(this one is horrrible so i understand)

Nintendo land wouldnt work without dual screen so i uderstand the issue.

Waow... that is actually a really good upgrade and they still "look" the same.

Definitive edition? Meh, I doubt it's gonna be that definitive.
Appears it will actually be giving the story an ending as opposed to ending on a cliffhanger.

Don't look like dolls anymore

Nice, they did good for this one, it seems, let's keep an eye for censorship or bad redesigns. Tokyo mirages is still entrapped on the wiiu, definitive edition is there uncensored.

FINALLY!!! I'm happy that I have a chance to play Xenoblade Chronicles X since I didn't play on Wii U.

It looks like Paper Mario: Color Splash is one of few titles that still stuck on Wii U.

Will it come with instructions or tutorial? I tried the Wii-U version and was completely baffled on how to play it.

3) Hopefully someone brings back the boob slider in the Wii U version 😜

Jokes aside, I'm very happy to see this game coming to the switch, It felt weird having every Xenoblade game BUT X on switch, i get that they're not connected at all aside from the Elma fight in XBC2 but if anything, that was a reasoning for me to want it on switch as well lol. Anyways it's a good game and it's finally getting some justice, win-win, Hopefully not a nightmare to emulate compared to the Cemu version.
