I have another question about the "No Game Card" option in Hekate. I upgraded my emuMMC to firmware 19, but my OFW is still running 18.1. From my understanding, Hekate should disable the Game Card slot on emuMMC, but it still works. Is this normal?
NoGC is a patch which disable the access to the cartridge, on the Switch the cartridge reader is a separated device with his own firmware.
When you upgrade the console firmware, the firmware of the cartridge reader device is upgraded also on the next reading of a game.
So if you have a *NAND with a lower firmware and you have another *NAND with a upper firmware and you access the cartridge on both, you will be only able of read games on the mos updated NAND the other one will not be able to read the cartridge.
That's why the NoGC setting is for, to avoid your cartridge reader device firmware to be updated.
