I've been trying to replace the dubbed audio of this game with it's japanese version but for some reason it just does not play at all. The english version is a direct translation of the japanese version, just with english text and dub voices. I thought It would be simple to just replace them but for some reason it's not working.

All of the characters voices are in DATA4.bin and in .adx files. Whenever I try to replace them, they become completely silent in game. There is a .afs file in DATA3.bin that holds all of the menu and character bio voices that also goes silent after I replace it. The only successful edit I've made is replacing the main menu music and the opening movie with the japanese version. Is there some sort of file I should be replacing for the game to detect the audio?

You're probably using the wrong version of CriWare.

Usually when games are built with CriWare, they're picky about versions. (Most times can't use a newer version on an older engine.)

I've just been transfering the Japanese .adx files of the Japanese version of the game to the English version and replacing them. Is there a regional difference in CriWare versions?

No regional difference.

What I was referring to, is different versions.

If you're using a newer version of CriWare, it can not work properly on games using the older engine.

I'm not using any version of CriWare. I've just been swapping files.
