Are you serious ? Well done my friend, succeeding in mixing in so few words a powerful feeling of indecency, ingratitude and childishness, it's powerful...

But I'm not going to burden you any more than that, it's a useless waste of time, no on the contrary, as we told you, V056 is not yet finished but you still want to try it, ok, as we told you above you have to compile it yourself, you don't know how to do it, I assure you, it's not complicated, after all me too, I didn't know how to do it a few weeks ago either.

Also we are on GBATemp, it should come naturally to tell yourself that you can find the solution here...

Anyway , read all the posts on page 185 of this thread's discussion:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/gbarunner2.451970/page-185

And reports the method for NGPDS:

https://github.com/FluBBaOfWard/NGPDS

You will need this:

https://github.com/devkitPro/installer/releases

Follow the instructions here:

https://devkitpro.org/wiki/Getting_Started

And to finish, enjoy your own build !

Even though yoooblls had possibly the greatest reason why he can't do it that I've seen in a long time, I completely agree with the bottom part of your post. You're 100% right about it being easier than most people would expect. I haven't touched C or C++ in a few decades, and I got DevKitPro working with no problem at all. With the Makefiles provided, anyone can do it. It's as easy as adding a Path to your system so that it knows where the DevKitPro binaries are, downloading a source, and typing "Make" in PowerShell.

I got a chance to compile the (work in progress) NGPDS V0.5.6 and generally running very smooth. All my favs worked except Samurai Showdown 2 which seemed to be missing most of the background music (it's making some light static noise as if it wants to play...) and Super Real Mahjong which has graphical glitches (yes, I'm one of the few westerners who plays and enjoys the Japanese Richii style of Mahjong).

Metal Slug 2 played really well - the sound seems much improved though I wasn't able to get very far in it since I'm balls at it.

@wavemotion I just retested with Samourai Shodown 2 to check if I had the same problem but that's not the case, I have the background music however I'm using a bios so maybe your problem would be maybe related to this if you don't use one. On the other hand, if I'm not talking nonsense, I believe that Super Real Mahjong is known to have graphical bugs on the intro with NGPDS

I can confirm the SamSho 2 thing. The sound works alright though it can bug out if you use save states as it doesn't load the music or even sound effects when you reload the state though that was sort of rare. This was with a BIOS when I last played it.

Hi @FluBBa

I tested the latest version yesterday (the one from December, 2023-12-10), I haven't yet taken the time to do more in-depth tests but from the little I was able to do, this new version, seems to work correctly and the speed seems to be slightly improved, MS2 seems to work better although the weapon powers up sound problem persists, in any case everything seems much smoother, NGPDS is really pleasant to use, thanks for your work dude!

Thanks for waiting while I optimized the code, so just in time for Christmas here is V0.5.6 finally .
  • Added SLOT-2 RAM support.
  • Fixed Color/Mono selection.
  • Linked NDS battery to NGP battery.
  • Optimized cpu core.
There are more ways to optimize the cpu core but I will look at specific games now, so if you have a favorite game that is not running at full speed do please tell! Have a nice Holliday everyone!

Hi FluBBa ! Thanks for the update, unfortunately the issue from post #96 and #119 persists. (DSi freeze on a "Please wait, power on" red and blue screens at startup if using a bios)

Any clues ?

Are you selecting a NGP rom from within Twilight? I did some tests and could more or less replicate your problem.

Yes that was indeed the problem ! Everything's fine now if i launch the emulator first and select a rom.

Thanks you very much FluBBa !
