I tried the Lion King game on the PS1 core and it worked pretty much at full speed almost at all times. It worked with Retroachievements, too! Which do sometimes cause lag on some games. Pretty impressive stuff.
I come very, very late to reply to this, but do you know wich was the first game i played to test the first build of Retroarch on Wii U?linkchidori, well it's easy.....Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike is compatible with FBneo/FBA on pc, but doesn't work on wiiU because it's beyond the wiiu limit on the machine, didn't you notice this rom was much bigger than others?
=> The Wii U has 2GB of RAM (Random Access Memory). However, it should be noted that the system's RAM is divided into two separate pools: 1GB of RAM is allocated to the system's operating system and applications, while the remaining 1GB is dedicated to game software, that mean SF3 need more than 1GB and that mean that only 1GB of memory is necessary for almost all games, Even on a pc with 8GB, almost no program uses all that ram, if the game is reduced, it might work ... when speaking of the .32GB memory, it is the internal memory if you have the deluxe version, which is not the ram, of course.
This is a vid I made ages ago showing Yabause with WiiU overclock.. as you can see it didn't run well lol and i think it had frame skip on too.
Bomberman may have just been a 1 out of 100 game that can run ok.
But I agree Saturn on WiiU could run fine if enough effort were put into it.
It was just a bog standard overclock forwarder, for Gamepad support that would have to be added to the Yabause source too.Hey I’m interested in that Yabause forwarder, does it work with the gamepad? Where can I get it?
Also I need that PS1 RetroArch core, any download link? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, I hope Saturn gets supported on RetroArch Wii U someday, btw I forgot is N64 supported too or is it Not 64 only still? It was just a bog standard overclock forwarder, for Gamepad support that would have to be added to the Yabause source too.
I dont even think I have that forwarder anymore.
The new Core is 3 posts above yours ^^
EDIT lol I still have it
Yabause forwarder
Yabause Emulator
That's it, i'm taking my Wii U out this week.Another PS1 Core update Fixes Parasite Eve 2 and maybe others.
If all goes well the Core will be on the Buildbot soon, so no need for me to post a new build every time there's an update
Still vWii Not64/Wii64.Thanks, I hope Saturn gets supported on RetroArch Wii U someday, btw I forgot is N64 supported too or is it Nod 64 only still?
When it comes to 3D games try to:Tested a couple of PS1 games, 2D ones seem to run fine (Rayman and Gex) but the 3D one (Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters) runs slow, still progress, hopefully more progress is made.
A couple of questions, how do I enable analog stick (DoulShock) and how do I enable frame skipping for slower games?
As for Yabause with vWii boost I tested a few games, first off it appears mdf/mds format isn’t supported which is a shame because some games I have use that format, also it’s still slow and glitchy, being built on a very old build before Yabause received and update with a big boost in performance, Keio The Flying Squadron 2 ran a bit fast though with frame skipping, dunno if there’s a way to balance it, I wonder if it’s possible to update the emulator with a more recent version because it definitely has potential.

Taking advantage of your post, I tested Final Fantasy 8 on the wiiu core and for it to work perfectly you have to make the following settings:When it comes to 3D games try to:
Disable Vsync - Settings>Video>Synchronization>Vertical Sync = OFF
Disable Dithering Pattern and set Frameskip to Auto (Threashold) both are found In Quick Menu - Core Options>Video
Also you can set the games region to Pal so the game will to only need 50fps instead of 60fps to reach fullspeed
Quick Menu - Core Options>System>Region = PAL
Sometimes that can have a big effect in game performance..
For example with Frameskip set to Auto (Threashold), Dithering Disabled and Vsync disabled Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters runs fullspeed! (only tested for a few minutes)
You can enable Dualshock in the In-Game options under Controls>Port 1 Controls>Device Type = DualShock

It's on the buildbot NOW!Merged. Notaz has accepted the PR.
Hitting the nightly builds in a day or two.
Dynamic Recompiler off? are you sure? turning off the recompiler will certainly make the performance worse. This emulator that you used is from the vwii and not from the wiiu and also this emulator is a beta I still use it what you could do is use it as a base to improve it and make it run on the real wiiu without using the vwii
It was even cool to see this initiative at the time on the Wii but it already served as a basis for how to improve and port it on the Wiiu just as it happened with Wiistation so that it improved from Wiisx just an idea.

Taking advantage of your post, I tested Final Fantasy 8 on the wiiu core and for it to work perfectly you have to make the following settings:
run the game as soon as it enters, go to the quick menu, then to (core option)
in the tab (system/video)
change the:
SYSTEM:
PSX CPU CLOCK SPEED = 40
DYNAMIC RECOMPILE = off
REGION= ntsc
SHOW BIOS BOOT LOGO= on
VIDEO:
DITHERING PATTERN= off
FRAME DUPING=on
FRAMESKIP= auto(threshold)
FRAMESKIP THRESHOLDS(%)=33
so the game will work well only the audio in the opening part is a bit broken but from the initial screen forward the game is perfect and the texts that were missing before now appear correctly
Don't chain load PS1 games.. Always Close Content after you've finished playing a gameI tested a bunch more games, most of them ran fine with a few mixed results but overall compatibility seems genuinely high.
Crash Bash however did not work and I kept getting an error message during switching between different games that says “failed to read memory” and crashes the system, not sure what’s causing it but I’m kinda worried to damage my system now.
For now I can still play PS1 games on my modded PS Vita so I will wait on this but I would like to revisit it again in the near future hopefully with a more stable version.
