Do you know what furries are
Probably Vetusomaru has no idea what furries are and believes the negative stereotypes about them are correct. Maybe he needs to get his head checked instead of looking at retarded 4chan theories.

I personally couldn't fathom living a lifestyle like that, but that's just me. If you wanna cosplay as a giant wolf all the time, I don't really have a problem with that unless you impose that persona on your entire life (e.g. people genuinely believing they're an animal in a human body, which isn't common but still happens).

I think mental illness can be harder to detect within demographics such as furries because it can be chocked up to self-identification, which is concerning. But I don't think this is the case most of the time--in other words, I don't believe most furries to have malicious intentions. I think the lifestyle is odd but as long as you've got a good track record and you're a reasonable person otherwise I don't see why it would be a problem.

The people who believe they’re an animal need help. I’ll jokingly claim to be a cat and all of that, but that’s as far as that goes.

For sure. I think some outsiders think all furries are like this which is incorrect. Conversely, I think that it's harder to detect when someone genuinely believes they're an animal within the furry community simply because of the environment. However, this is based on an outside perspective, so I can't say this for sure.

Those are fursuiters
Subgenre of furries that I'm weirded out by as a furry myself
Being a furry is just by definition liking anthropomorphic characters:

Aka looking at something like this and enjoying that action

Ah-I see. Thanks for the clarification.

To rephrase my earlier statement, if it's not directly harming anyone I don't see a problem with it.

Do... Do people still care about furries in the year of our lord 2023? I thought people stopped caring enough to hate on furries half a decade ago.

Its still just grossly misunderstood or confused with zoophilia for the most part, but yes people care about furries
when they could be using their time donating to cancer research instead just saying

It just feels like anti-virtue signaling I guess? Like "hey guys i'm totally BASED I hate this group because I consider them abnormal haha look how not woke I am!"

Like a more terminally online version of just saying a slur to show how not PC you are.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
