They used to sell max media docks at walmart and best buy, were eventually replaced by Games n Music (slot-1) which also sold at best buy, walmart, and gamestop, for about 20 usd

the media launcher is just a pass me ( aka passkey cartridge) for a slot 2 cartridge, pass keys just boot gba slot in nds mode, which is what was used until slot 1 encryption itself was broken

there is also ds-xtreme, cyclo ds which are well known more scarce cards, that actually have compatibility

I also have a DSTwo that still works fine. Maybe not so rare lol?

How about an M3 DS Real?? I've got one of those too.
M3 DS Real was the best and most reliable cart in my opinion. Did you get the one bundled with the rumble pak?

Along with the others saying they have a DSTWO, I also have one. The shell disintegrated because they were extremely cheaply made, but it still works.
I also have a DSTTi.

I think the rarest one that isn't a super obscure clone is probably the DSTWO Plus if I had to guess.

Yeah, but didn't really use it much. It's here somewhere, in the DS Lite shell. I think it also came with a fullsize GBA cart shell (?), but if so that's whereabouts unknown / lost to time.

I still own a DStwo and it is working. 3DS on the other hand sometimes is too sassy to read the card. I guess I have to do some cleaning.

The replies to this thread make me feel so old

The rarest card is the R6 gold. It's the only NDS flashcard with a gyroscope inside. It's rare for two reasons:

- Expensive (it was more expensive than the Cyclo DS)
- Most of the games didn't work, as it was buggy as hell.

I dare you to find one on sale. You just can't.

"R4i 3DS" (DSi) and "TT" (DS Lite) dunno if it's rare, I've not used those handhelds in months or years, anyway.

x2 TTDS/DSTT (Koo Flash (clone), ASDTF02 (genuine))
R4 SDHC Gold Pro (www.r4isdhc.com)
Passcard 5 (PCB 2006-09-11)
Acekard 2i (Yellow and black PCB) (genuine)
I have that TT DS card. It always looked cheap, but it did the job.

Is there any way to install the kernel without the usb reader?
you could try a wii with https://wiibrew.org/wiki/WiiXplorer and ehm man this will be messy...
somehow download and extract the kernel on the wii useing the explorer i think and wiixplorer to extract, then copy the content with wiixplorer to the rood of the sdcard?
Maybe there's other consoles with these kind of tricks? Raspberry pi or arduino maybe?

The real G6 has no sd card.
