I have given access to many qualified people that asked me privately, some of them intending to find exploits. I understand what you're saying, but I don't think releasing to everyone is wise until the alternate exploit is finished.

It makes sense. While this may not be what people want to hear. Sometimes instant gratification isn't what is needed. Everyone just needs to have some patience. I can see both sides here, but while one side has a real reason for hesitation the other side is primarily guided by impatience and greed. He will release it at the optimum time, unless this community ruins it for themselves.

Well here ya go everyone. when the alt. exploits done, then we can talk about a release. Case closed.
And if we don't find one? What if Nintendo has abandoned the console and won't patch it anyways? When do we say it's safe to release the current exploit? NX release? What if the scene is dead by then and moved to the NX?

It's not about finding one, it's about turning a known bug into something useful.

That's fair I think. Now, if they would refrain from announcing anything else until that time. That's all we need to keep the shit show at bay.

Would negative feedback stop you from releasing it, though?

In other words, stop bein' a little bitch. I know that was probably sarcasm but there's no need to alienate a developer in their own scene
No offense, but considering the only people who think like ratios matter in any community are the ones who "win" under such rules, like you with the 500+ more likes than posts, you might wanna gain the will to chill

So it's a matter of exploring this second bug further and seeing if it can be developed into an exploit?

Yes.

If I promise, cross my heart, not to give it away, can I have the current 5.5.1 exploit?

As of now, it's being given to people with experience in what they're trying to do. If you have that, I'd consider it.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
