As far as I'm concerned, as long as all the menus are translated, the story mode doesn't really need to be done. I mean come on, we've played through this story a thousand times in a thousand games, we all know what happens.

I didn't know some months to a year = forever.
Time has certainly changed.

Again, as long as you're not an impatient brat, it should be fine. If you want to play it, obviously it means it's worth the wait for the localization.
No point in being impatient and someone wasting some of their life away to translate a game that'll get localized.
