This is a case that we thought can happen in theory (not sure if there is already a real one before). The reason is that citra is using GPU in an uncommon way comparing with normal PC games: it transfers texture data between general RAM and graphics RAM a lot. In this process, an integrated GPU, where the transfer distance is "short", can probably perform better than a discrete GPU, where the distance is "far".

Can it be done so that it will use the GPU ram directly in the future? I wish i knew how to do it myself :)

Thanks

actually Cytra loads GPU - very much
easy to check. for example "procexp" // you can check loading for both GPU (discrete and integrate) you have

Wish there was a way to add a feature to store the user to a specific spot so when updating bleeding edge build doesn't over write the folder each time. Just a way to do like ROM location. User folder location could be set anywhere. I know its not a high priority but would be great for testing new versions without copying and pasting user folder every time.

Pretty sure that's how Citra actually works atm. I mean, I can update Bleeding Edge without losing any save data, and those are stored in the user folder. Pretty sure that's the entire idea behind this post:

Just put the contents of your user folder in C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Citra

Mine creates a new folder for each version so the user folder needs to be copied to the new folder every time. Bleeding edge downloads a new version folder when it detects a new update.

don't copy the entire user folder. Just copy the inside of the user folder.
  • cheats(if they implemented Cheats again to the Bleeding Edge)
  • config
  • nand
  • SDMC
  • sysdata

You don't have to put the user folder in the new Bleeding Edge version folder. If Citra doesn't find a user folder in the folder that Citra is in it will look for it in C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Citra
Just put the cheats, config, nand, sdmc, and sysdata folders into C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Roaming\Citra and make sure that there is no user folder in the Bleeding Edge folder.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.
