Very nice job with n3ds mset. This cfw now has my full attention, but I do have a noob question before I venture into this. Can ReiNAND currently, or could it be configured/compiled to be ran using sysNAND *without* FirmlaunchHax? I know there must be more than a few gateway n3ds users who only have OoT and have wanted to properly run Ninjhax 1.1b, but up until this mset was added had no way of doing so.
I'm working on a sysnand booting option.. I need to have the 3ds decrypt and read the nand for firm0 for this though, so it'll take some time.

Have you uploaded the LASTEST of github to pastebin? You haven't updated the pastebin I think (In pastebin still say "RAM dump (currently set for FCRAM) [Start Button]")

Do you see this in your PATH: (start cmd and enter "path"
This will show your PATH and the next stuff has to be in it:

PATH=c:\devkitPro\msys\bin;c:\devkitPro\devkitARM\bin\;C:\Python27\;C:\MinGW\bin;

Error 127 mostly is cause it can't execute a command, this almost always is because your path is wrong (missing folder in your path that holds the executable file)
c:\devkitPro\msys\bin\ should be the folder where armips.exe installed is, if not, locate the file and add that folder to your path.

Reboot afterwards!
Thanks. I have already triple checked the path. We are on Linux it is not exactly the same

Simply install with FlashCard DS a RnInstaller.nds that have in the pastebin and you must choose: "4.X N3DS Reinand"

Is it possible to downgrade the MSET without a Gateway card?

Without a gateway, but with Ninjhax i'm fairly sure you can downgrade the Mset.
Instead of booting into Gateway Sysnand, you should be able to launch Ninjhax -> Pasta CFW -> Ninjhax -> FBI and get the same affect. (Then I guess back to pasta to install the appropriate stuff with DevMenu)

Once you've downgraded the mset using ninjhax, is there any way to access ReiNand through the mset exploit without owning a DS Flashcart? I only own a Sky3DS sadly :(.

Ninjhax? Do you have any directions for that? Can only find tutorials using the Gateway Launcher so never thought Ninjhax could do it.

Download Pasta CFW & place the files on your internal mSD
Go to: http://smealum.net/ninjhax/ - Download either the starter kit or the Homebrew Menu and place on internal mSD as well.
Input your firmware / region letter
Launch Cubic Ninja -> Create -> QR code -> Scan the QR you got from Ninjhax.

You can install Gateways Mset exploit without a NDS Flaschart, I don't think you can with Reinands though.

I meant using Ninjhax to install, but I guess the above should help more people :P

So using FBI through pasta CFW and install mset 4.x using the install mset option, then using rninstaller to install the ROP chain before launching DS profile. Am I right?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
