Well here's the completed mortorexplain :) SubExplain is next. I'm leaving WeaponExplain last because... phew 700+ records... I'm shakin' in my boots. I'm doing it though. Not backing down...

Oh I'm putting this down until after boxing day after which I'll get started on SubExplain. Also, I'm not sure how far CrashmanX got into hacking G Gen before he hit a snag. You'll have to wait until he posts here.

I still haven't forgot about G Gen. I just never could get the CPK open properly.
I managed to once but never could figure out exactly how I did it.
Also, It's about 8:40AM X-Mas eve here, so I'll do as much as I can before X-Mas.

Hmm. Have you tried using other CPK tools? Any of the G Gen series are games that I'd love to see translated. I'd be the first to jump into translating it if you ever manage to get the CPK to open properly.

Also, resuming my translating on SubExplain. I'm about 1/4 done on that :)

Oh trust me. Every CPK opening tool I've tried. I've used multiple QuickBMS scripts, CPK tools, UTF_Tab, and a bunch of others. But if anyone thinks of one go ahead and ask.

They're pretty easy to use. Just copy the files you want to translate over to the folder with the programs and run the prgram for the specific file type. Then check the Madoka.txt for any text from BTX files

MAKE SURE TO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR ORIGINAL FILES! Always make a 2nd copy of the originals under a new folder (Example: "Install.CPK folder ORIGINAL" and "Install.CPK folder TRANSLATED")
Example sequence:
1. Use UMDGen to open up your ISO and extract the Install.CPK
2. Use CPK tools to extract the data from the Install.CPK
3. Copy BattleMessage.pac over to the Madohack folder
4. Run the Decodepace.exe
5. Run the Decodebtx.exe (Also run the decodecsb.btx and the decodegima.exe for image files if you want to work on those)
6. Check the Madoka.txt file with your text editor of choice (Note that the text comes out in UTF-16LE Unicode 16 bit Little Endian format)
7. Translate images or text as you wish.
8. Run the encode version of whatever decode programs you already ran (Encodebtx.exe if you ran Decodebtx.exe and so on)
9. Run CPK tools again but this time compressing the CPK (Choose the directory where you saved the translated versions. DO NOT CHANGE THE FILE TREE! Doing so will prevent the game from running.)
10. Make sure you UNCHECK force compression (Forcing compression prevents Battles from working)
11. Open UMDGen again and replace the old install.cpk (Simply drag and drop it) MAKE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A NEW ISO!
12. Put it on your PSP and test it out. (I don't know if Danball works on JPCSP, so feel free to test it on that)

EDIT: Also can one of the trans bros help with this?
<SET0>とバトルしたことで
<SET1>を分けてもらいました!

I don't know what goes in either SET value. I only know it's in the NetworkGuide file.

That's... Could it be a name? I could see <SET1> being a name because it's says "<SET1> has received their cut!" and " (You have) Battled with <SET0>"

Sorry to ask am stuck on 2. I've got the Install.CPK from extracting it from UMDGen but I don't understand how to extract the data from CPK tools. I've used CPK tools and unpack CPK and saved it on my desktop after I decompress it it say extraction complete but I don't see the file on my desktop. Am I doing it wrong?

On the first one where it says "Unpack CPK" navigate to the Install.CPK you extracted from the ISO. Then under "Save Path" choose where you want to save the files. You need to choose a folder or make one.

I did what you said after 'save path' I decompress it, after when it's done extracted I went to the folder I sent it too and it wasn't there. I did everything you said but I don't see anything in the folder.

Edit: I already have folder made before I started this. shall I just work on that temp text in madohack or 06_scene?

Can you uploaded BattleMessage.pac? I'll have a look at it.

Sure. I can do that. 06_scene is all images so if you wanted to work on those be my guest. I'll have BattleMessage.pac uploaded here in just a bit for you.
EDIT: Herp. Upon reviewing the BattleMessage.pac is already done. Here's a list of files from the Message Data folder for what's done and isn't.
If you have any questions about what a specific file contains let me know and I'll give you as much detail about that file as I can.
If you want to work on it and it's not already uploaded to the PasteBin then let me know and I'll upload it ASAP.

I'm 2/3 done with SubExplain. I'm hoping to finish that in the next few days before I continue on with RPGITEMEXPLAIN_JP.BTX. WeaponExplain for last. Please post here if anyone is working on a specific file so that we know and can avoid it. That way no two translator is working on the same file. Faster that way.

We're far from done, sadly. Even though there are more greens (meaning done) on that list, the reds actually holds the bulk of the text that needs to be translated but in terms of a beta patch, everything but the story translated, it could be coming soon. Depends on CrashmanX.
