Hi everyone,

Just found this good mod : https://gahttps://gamebanana.com/effects/6321mebanana.com/effects/6321 for link's awakening.

It's a mod to disable the blur in the game.

And i decided to write an Homebrew to enable or disable this mod from the switch without PC.

You can found the project and instructions here : https://github.com/SegFault42/ZeldaLinksAwakeningBlurRemoval

Because he completely botched the URLs. His Github is nonexistent though.

Here's the link to the layeredfs files. Works with both Atmosphere and SX OS (just rename the folder to sxos if you want to use it there).

It works fine and looks way better in my opinion. The blur annoyed me.

I don't see why you would need a homebrew specifically for that. Just copy and paste the files, done.

Also, in terms of copyright, I am not sure if it is right to not credit the creator of the mod in your homebrew, and on top of that specifically state "by SegFault42" in the app. When you clearly didn't make this, you just wrote an on/off switch.

For removal maybe? for ppl/women who don't do the ftp.
also useful for testing

Edit:
Maybe he should put a credit in parentheses

Thanks, this mod improves the framerate?

I've used this mod for a couple hours now and I've experienced the same framedrops when loading into different areas in the map. The only way to really make the framerate better is by overclocking, but then again it's not really that much of a difference. Best to just wait for a patch for the game.

Credit are in the readme of the project page.

This actually has an unexpected use in Yuzu. Seems like the blur filter is a bit... extreme if you try to play Links Awakening in it. Making the game nearly unplayable. Would be funny if it turns out this is some sort of new AP Nintendo devised... I'll coin it "vaseline filter".

After updating to 9.1.0 the joycons is not working (not a Hardware issue. It’s from the app itself)
Any idea please?

For people having problems with this mod not working (like I was), they have changed how the latest version of Atmosphere works. So the above homebrew doesn't work anymore. I mean it works but doesn't install the mod in the proper folder.

It's quite easy to fix. Get the files from gamebanana website and copy/paste the "atmosphere" folder on the root of your memory card.

After that, go inside the "atmosphere" folder and then inside "titles" folder and find this folder - "01006BB00C6F0000". Simply move this folder (cut/paste) from the "titles" folder into "contents" folder.

In the end, the setup on your memory card should look like this...

atmosphere\contents\01006BB00C6F0000

And it will work just perfect! Happy Gaming! :D

PS: If you wanna know the specific reason for this, then read below...

Atmosphere's process override layout was changed.
  • Atmosphere now uses the /atmosphere/contents directory, instead of /atmosphere/titles.
    • This goes along with a refactoring to remove all reference to "title id" from code, as Nintendo does not use the term.
