I've just bought the new Zelda 3DS game. When I put the cartridge in the system it says it needs to perform an update.

I'm currently on system version 1.0.0E. Shall I risk an update or leave the system as it is to allow possible hacks for homebrew in the future? Thoughts - what is everyone else doing?

lol
most of us are on 2.x make an update!
thez dont brick 3ds and wont do it in future.

?f a one day an card will be running backups and homebrew, be sure ?t they will try to make it run on the latest fw

Acekard 2i working after Zelda 3DS update.

Last night I popped in Zelda and saw the update message. I use Acekard 2i. I went to their site and downloaded the v2 firmware and updated my Acekard 2i. Then I put in Zelda and ran the 3DS update. When I finished I put the Acekard 2i back in and it ran with no problems. I admit I was nervous about locking out my Acekard, but it all worked out fine and I am enjoying Zelda along with my other games.

Which firmware version did Zelda update your 3DS to? (just out of curiosity)

Zelda updated mine to 1.1.0, I was pretty surprised(I thought for sure that it would make me update to 2.0)

I think we can trust the legacy team who said he tested the games, and they marchaient.Mais so why not give this team their solutions to hackers to linkers? Does someone could tell me why the DS mode is cracked and not the mode and 3ds dsi? What has changed?

The DS mode is cracked because Nintendo used the same security as on the DSL and DS. People just hacked it the same way they did with the
original NDS. DSi mode isn't cracked because no exploits have been found other than Sudokuhax, which was patched quickly. 3DS mode
isn't going to be hacked for a very long time, unless someone makes a massive breakthrough. Even then, it will likely be a hardware hack.

I dont really think a hardware hack would work for a hand held console, if youve ever taken apart a ds/dsl/dsi, those things are SHIT PACKED in there, not much room for a hard ware hack, the shell wouldnt fit properly

Yeah, a hardware hack wouldn't be practical, but the point is that hardware hacks usually come before, and lead to software hacks.

the update for the oot 3ds doesn't really do much but just unlock a few features as they are needed to run oot and a few other games.

don't worry about it the only thing you have to risk with updates are ds mode based 3ds-dsi flashcarts getting patched which if you have a good card easy to update.

if we used a hardware exploit it would already be done but that would be selfish as then only one 3ds system would have it so its easier to look for a 3ds ware based exploit.

(don't forget that the 3ds still has the same key system so each system is different.)

The iEvo uses the Cooking Coach save game exploit to enable DSi mode. The Sudokuhax isn't the only DSi mode enabling exploit available. Also the Cooking Coach exploit still works

just think about how much nintendo and other game developers gain by keeping flashcards or letting flashcards work on the 3ds,i mean they are no longer making the ds or ds lite and dsi is soon to follow so that means that since the cards work on 3ds that people will not be holding on to both systems as much (though i will)but that means lots more of cheap used ds units on the market, which means more units out there for people to buy games for , if the cards didnt work on the 3ds that means everyone with a ds and a flashcart that buys the 3ds would have to hold on to their old system to use the flashcard ,and old ds models are not being made anymore ,so 1 person with 2 systems is not going to buy 2 carts ,but 2 people with 1 system each will,or atleast potentially the buyer of the used system anyways

I don't get your point. At first you're saying that flashcarts will help game devs and Nintendo and then you contradict yourself by just describing how flashcarts WON'T help them.

And for the bolded statement, sure it'd mean more people buying a DS, but why would an average customer buy games when they already have a flash cart? It doesn't help Ninty or the devs at all.

You don't have to wait.
When we find the way to hack,
we will find any key to encrypt, protect.
Then they release it at newest firmware.
No need to be worried about updates.

What. Nintendo wouldn't gain money if they supported flashcarts. Sure, they might make a little bit more money from console sales, maybe,
but Nintendo makes GAMES as well. If everyone's using a flashcart, people aren't going to pity Nintendo and buy legit copies. Your point
means absolutely nothing. I'm sure Nintendo gets some money for each game they didn't make too. Nintendo would lose money.

you are missing the point , if i have a ds lite or dsi and i have a flashcard , and now i want to buy a 3ds ,then if i wanted to sell my dslite or dsi ,and still have use of my flashcard, that means the 3ds would have to support flashcards, so if someone only wanted a 3ds and wanted to use their flashcard and it works on 3ds then they can and will sell the ds lite or dsi which are not being sold anymore new, that means it will be on the used market for cheap and instead of a person having a ds lite and a 3ds and a flashcart that wont buy any games ,the person could sell the dslite ,and still continue to use their flashcard on their 3ds ,but now the ds lite is back in the hands of someone who will purchase games most likely, unless they are planning on getting a flashcard, keeping the 3ds from playing flashcards only makes the pirates have to have 2 systems that their not buying games for ,but allowing flashcards on 3ds means a pirate would have the option to sell the old system which means more units out there and more potential software sales

please use punctuation, your writing hurts my eyes.

The update bricks your 3DS if you used ANY flashcard or attempted to modify any content on the included SD card...

...just kidding!

I will warn you, Master Quest has some nasty tricks! "Mirrored" World, 2x Damage received! WATCH YOUR HEARTS!

so did they keep all the levels intact , i heard befor that nintendo was thinking of removing some level/s and making the game shorter , probably just a rumor , i hope , would be nice if they added some levels ,kinda like a 2nd master quest

i dont even remember that item, from the original
im surprised they didnt put a rumble feature in the 3ds,they shold have ,and a 2nd analog stick
also i dont like the icons for the tunics in the item screen menu , they look like modern day polo shirts WTF
