Is there any way to change the backlight brightness from within YSMenu?

It's like I have to choose between having backlight adjustments (DSTT firmware) or alphabetic file listings (YSMenu).

Is it too much to ask for both?

you can also change the brightness setting in YSMenu.ini :

SORT_BY_TIME=false
; INI FileName for Skin (default YSMenu.ini)
SKIN=
; Brightness (0-3 or -1=Default)
BRIGHT=1

; Auto boot this file (default DEFAULT.NDS)
AUTO_BOOT=
; write it shown on bottom by yourself
VERSION=
; Disable WAIT_CNT on SuperCard
GBA_PATCH=true
; Disable File Deletion
NO_DEL=false
; Extension of Save (use .sav usually)
EXT_SAV=.sav
; Default DMA/Reset Setting

DEFAULT_RESET=false
; External Application (Start Button Menu)

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

    Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

    Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
